No. There is no such thing as the devil. The appropriate use of the mind is the only way to know anything.

Well looking at how so many christians don't use their minds I would say that it is a commonly held belief in that religion. However, there are many well educated and logical christians in the world.....so my answer would be NO. I personally do not believe in any entity such as the devil.
What about "idle hands are the devils workshop"...or something like that.....so you are supposed to have busy hands and empty heads? No thanks.

No, I believe what it means is an 'idle' mind is the devils play ground; and what this means is anyone not doing what they should be doing or just idle is an easy way for the devil to use tempting suggestions...

Selfishness of spirit, the Ego, is Satan personified. Only when you can stop the mind, thought, can you truly experience being. The ego is constantly thinking of ways to keep its control, only when you stop the egoic mind does the real abstract mind begin to emerge.
Learn to observe and guide your thoughts and then you will understand who you really are.

Actually I think it's one of God's greatest creations. The ones who tends to go to the "dark side" are those who tend to utilize that gift for ill and to harm others for personal gain. They are typically self-seekers who don't care who they harm. The evil is not in the human mind. Rather it lies in the intent of those who misuse the gift they were given.

it's also all we have. that seems kind of unfair. and considering that every good thing we do involves the mind, i'd say no. satan supposedly convinced angels to rebel in heaven so even before the invention of the mind there was evil.
