In my humble opinion, I would say Alcohol. It tends to have more control over ones mind, making some violent, and out of control. Causing them to black out, and physically sick. Marijuana does not make people violent as far as I know. And although it does do damage to you in the long run, it doesn't make you physically sick to be high.

Alcohol is definitely worse. I have a friend whose Dad is an alcoholic..he blacks out a lot and tends to outburst on people. He's fat and unhealthy and a drunk. Not a nice person to be around..even when sober.
I also have a friend whose Dad smokes a LOT of weed. He's the nicest, funniest guy I've met. He's quite healthy for his age, rides his bike everywhere.

Personally, I smoked weed..more than a few times, it did the exact opposite of DEPRESS me, I was giggly and happy..not a depressed bone in my body. And it doesn't make you stupid..I have good grades...and it is definitely not always a "Gateway drug", I've never done anything more than weed, and neither have my friends, and a lot of people. It's not that addictive either. Smoking (which i do) is more addicitive.

At the end of the day, alcohol is a far worse substance. Makes you feel awful, physically and emotionally.

I don't believe either are that bad in the first place (although I believe getting behind the wheel of a car on either one is not the smartest thing someone can do).

However, I believe alcohol is the worse of the two. For one, it CAN actually kill someone by drinking too much. While with marijuana, one will never be able to achieve the amount needed to die. Also more brain cells are killed while drinking alcohol than smoking marijuana.

just makes me wonder why marijuana is illegal. But hey I still love and do both. Then again I am a bartender, so it is kind of my job.

Personally I hate marjuana and love alcohol. I believe marjuana to be worse as it is ilegal and have persoally used it. If you are not one of the persons who can handle it and use it there could be serious problems like depression. If you try alcohol for the first time, decide it's not for you and you can leave it with little harm done contrary to trying marjuana. There is a chemical in marjuana that is known for causing depression and it is more mind altering than booze in a negative way. Oh and marjuana messed my life up. So yeah I hate it.

I think that alcohol is worse than marijuana. I believe that the effect that alcohol has on your internal organs and brain or devastating. Alcohol when misused has degrading effects on peoples personalities, inhibitions, work lives, love lives ....car accidents..pregnancies and on and on and on I could go.
I know that their are risks associated with ingestion of marijuana also...but wow...what a difference ......the highs are not even comparable.
If given no other choice, I would rather be in a room with 50 people smoking pot than 1 person drinking,

I'd have to say marijuana, only because it's not legal. I think if you can't drink alcohol in moderation it's VERY dangerous (especially when driving), but marijuana slows your reaction times down as well...so I wouldn't recommend driving while under the influence of either. If you're planning on getting high, head to Taco Bell BEFORE you light up so you won't need to go anywhere. If you plan on getting drunk, let someone else drive. BE RESPONSIBLE!

I'd say alcohol is the more dangerous of the two. If you smoke too much pot, you pass out. If you drink too much, you just might have to get your stomach pumped. Besides, I've never heard of someone getting into an accident or running someone over because he was stoned.

I'd like to point out to the genius above me that I smoked pot for quite a while, and that was it, no harder drugs, I'm not living on the streets, and my life is just fine. Everything you said is just the sort of ignorant drivel I'd expect from someone brainwashed by the 50's mentality propaganda still circulating in one form or another. By the way, there are organizations to help individuals if they think they have a problem with pot, it's called "Narcotics Anonymous".

As far as marijuana not causing accidents, if cough medication can cause drowsiness, leading to accidents on the road, then pot can, too. This should be obvious.

You do not get into a car while drunk, stoned, on intoxicating medication or half-asleep. It is just because of the publicity and media coverage surrounding DUIs that people believe that it is not an issue. A lot of regular pot users villify drinkers but forget that what they're doing is the same as alcoholism. I am not judging, just being straightforward without hypocrisy.

Nothing like a slow boat ( extra long reefer ) and a good shot of the best to calm your shattered nerves after a hard days work being doing it for 30 odd years still going strong.

Bath can be psychologically addictive. One major difference worth noting is that it isn't possible to overdose on marijuana, while lots of alcohol in a brief period of time can lead to alcohol poisoning, an emergency medical condition that can be fatal.
