I'm not handling being overweight very well, just want to crawl into a hole and die really. What can i do to stop this? I know losing the weight is the answer, but havn't got the motivation to do it. So damn sad.

I'm not going to tell you to lose the weight. If you wanted to lose it you would if it truly truly bothered you. Ive felt like "oh should lose 10 lbs" but never did it, why, becuase eventually I became comfortable with who I am and I'm proud of it. If its not life threating I say just learn to be comfortable with yourself. When I was younger I developed really early, and not little tiny boobs like Ds in 7th which was insane. and all the boys would either make fun of me or try to cop a feel and I was really insecure about it for a while and extremely defensive, then one day I was like forget it and embraced them for what they were and if anyone would tease me or try to touch one id say "Go for it!" which through them off and knowing that I was comfortable made me not want to change. So seriously just learn how to love who you are before anything else because you shouldn't want to lose weight for other people. You shouldn't want to change just to change hoe people see you but how you see yourself. Write down how u feel and write down something you like about yourself everyday and love it.

you gotta fix your diet... i believe you have to find out how many calories you burn a day then take in a little less than that
keep this in mind i think it's about 3200 calories = one pound so when if you take 200 less calories than your daily amount in about 16 days you'll lose a pound.... do not resort to weight loss pills or anything losing weight needs to be a commitment and it's gonna take time but you just have to stick with it. control yourself with what you eat but that doesnt mean no more sweets or desserts, treat yourself every once in a while it doesnt hurt. but make this a lifestyle for yourself, and another thing DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF - cardio exercise helps too do about 30-40 min of walking at least 4-5 times a week, that cant work against you... good luck. BE WARNED.... DO NOT USE PILLS those can have very bad side effects disregard what the other person said above about pills. oh and instead of sugar, eat fruits, they taste way better anyway ... refined sugar is so bad for you + another tip would be get someone to work with to help you along, to keep you going with your lifestyle, motivation from a friend really helps like cheating in a game

I too have trouble getting motivated to do anything, and I have accepted my inability to stay on diets; however, the one thing I will not accept is the weakening of my body as I get older. If you make the decision to attack your problem from a health and well-being standpoint, rather than a demoralizing "Gunnery Sgt. Hartman" yelling drill instructor in your brain, you will feel more motivated. Of course, sometimes the drill instructor helps. But my point is that you need to examine your motivations and reasons for wishing to lose weight. If you alter your outlook to a more moderate goal, such as "I would like to run a mile without feeling like I'm gonna die," or "I would like be able to see definition in my arms and abdomen," things like that that have nothing to do with numbers on a scale and everything to do with the way you look and feel, you will find it isn't such a high mountain. Take it in small steps and don't throw in the towel if you fail once. Get back on the horse that threw you and ride it to the end. After all, that is what we all have to do.

Pick a recreation center or health club you find compatible with your favorite activities, join an aerobics group or walking group for motivation, even join Weight Watchers, who had one of the best ideas for motivating someone to do exercise I ever heard of--they issue challenges. I did one, even though I am not seriously overweight, just because I liked the challenge concept. The online WW site issued a challenge to Lord of the Rings fans (I am a big LOTR fan) to follow Frodo and Sam's path to Mount Doom and track it on a map. It motivated many hundreds of people to walk regularly and many of them lost a LOT of weight. You'll note that this challenge does NOT focus on weight loss directly but gives one an imaginative goal and puts you in a mindset where you are walking in Middle Earth, not in the depressing real world. That is what it took to motivate this fantasy fan to walk 1800 miles and drop that One Ring into Mount Doom...

Pick your own favorite story that has a long journey if you like and map it and follow it--literally walk in another world and you'll find this will help motivate you. OK, lecture over! Sorry it was so long!

I have been on the same path! If you have been overweight for any length of time, you know how to diet! You need to convince you mind that you are serious. It sounds hokey, but visualize what you want to look like, be specific. Tell yourself you have already lost the weight. Do this as often as possible. This will convince your subconsious that you are thin and it will help you become your vision. Also make a list of goals, write them down. Read them morming and night. Carry them with you. If you feel like eating something you shouldn't; read your list instead. It's not easy, but it's will be worth it in the long run when you become lean and trim. If you are really depressed, see a doctor.

Maybe find a picture of someone you admire (not a superskinny model) and find an outfit you would like to fit into. But be realistic. Write a list of why you want to lose weight (other than wanting to be thin), and a list as the pro's and con's of both losing weight vs. not losing weight. Start off slowly, and reward your goals (losing 5 kilos, being able to do a certain amoutn of time on the excercise bike - or whatever you choose to use as an excercise method) with something other than food.

But you need to eat healthy and excercise to be succesful, and remember - it takes time.

Hope this helps :) Goodluck

It's sad the kind of cycle you end up in. Take it slowly - day by day. The best thing to do to acheive a goal is to do just one thing every day toward it.

For example, tomorrow, drink water instead of soda or juice. The next day, take a 15 minute walk after dinner. Next day, eat a healthy breakfast.

Before you know it, you will have made some major changes and you'll see great improvements. As soon as you becomem ore active (and get 15 minutes of sunlight per day) your mood will change a lot.

think of it this way. if you don't lose the weight you will always be thinking "what if". you only live once and you're suppose to enjoy life. you shouldn't care what others think because it's your life you're living not theirs. if being overweight makes you happy then enjoy the unlimited twinkies and fudgstickles. if being skinny would make you happy then do what it takes to get to your goal because if not you will die a sad nobody. and that is the truth. you're depressed because you EAT. if you stop eating your depression will go away. eat SALAD AND LAY OFF THE JUNK FOOD.

Well, you are NOT alone sister! Millions of women suffer daily because of fat. The only thing I know that can get you started is to find something you really like about yourself(yes, I know this can be difficult but it can be done) and focus on that for a while. For instance, like your hair? Go get a fresh color and cut. Try and keep focusing on the good things instead of the bad that makes you want to die and eat. You want to get out of that cycle.

Don't be sad- I know its hard I've been there but just think about it we spend so much time beating ourselves up over stupid ****. Learn to be your own best friend and not your enemy. You've got to believe you can accomplish anything because it's true. Set goals and try not to get behind. For weight loss may I suggest a vegetarian or semi-vegetarian diet, it worked for me I've lost 20 pounds so far with that and swimming. The key is moderation and variety. Cheer Up!
