God is love, God is truth. If you say that you believe in God where did the idea of God come from. For me, and many before me, it came from the bible. Everything that I know about God and will ever know about God came from the bible. Every lesson taught by God in His word shows us what true love really is. If you love mankind, you will not want to see the hurt, harm, pain that are being caused to so many in the world. Even if they don't know the God you serve, you don't wish them any harm or pain. You do good not evil or bad. You help. You give not expecting something back. You are more concerned for the well being of other human beings, not just be concerned about save the whale but kill the baby. Are not humans more important. Even if many don't think so GOD does. When I hear of a kind act, or a kind word spoken that helped someone, I am encouraged that some humans get it. This is what the bible teaches. People may twist it but it doesn't change what it means for millions.Truth!

How do you do it?

The god-concept is a good idea. The promise, false though it is, of an eternal afterlife if one behaves in this one, is a good idea.
Just because it is a good idea does not make it true.
So many people are so entranced by the concept that they so badly WANT it to be true that they just accept that it IS true.
Wanting it to be true just doesn't automatically make it so.
Therefore, they are so willing to listen to this lie, and many more of them in the same vein, that they have convinced themselves that it is so.
So willing are they to accept these lies that they no longer accept the words of truth, as they contradict what they have chosen to believe. Human nature.
God exists only in the imagination of the deluded. The whole idea is one HUGE confidence trick, for which you have fallen victim.
A great pity that your life is being squandered on such folly, when you would be far better off using your time and energy to use the opportunity this one and only life you will get to benefit yourself, your family and friends and, one can hope, society at large, without the 'assistance' of a fake god. You can do it.

That is funny I was thinking the same thing! Truth is usually lost on the masses. If you want to know what true love really is? It is loving yourself completely with total appreciation and compassion. You are more than just a sinner the needs some God's love to be worthy. If you can love every aspect of yourself you can then extend that same love to others. If you have not found within the ability to love yourself with compassion and appreciating you are lost and feel disconnected. God can't give you that which only can come from within. You cant give to other what you don't possess. God is not the middle man to having a positive self image.

You sound to me like someone who God has chosen to use in these final days of this Earth Age. And if this be true, then there is a great responsibility being put on your shoulders.

Every man or woman who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord, and has repented of their sins, is aware that they are a new creation in Christ Jesus the Lord.

If you love God Word, That's Jesus Christ, then follow the Will of God that is set forth through the Word.

Not long now and we Christian men and women will be standing facing the Saviour when the consuming fire touches us. Yes, we will stand to greet Him.

Many are called but few are chosen. We all hear the Word of God but many just let it go in one ear and out the other. There choice is a bad choice.

I think you get the message go now and do His Will <><

Have you ever read that bible?
Do you even know what your God is all about?

Did you know your God admits HE HAS AN EVIL SPIRIT AND CREATED EVIL! 1 Samuel 16:14 an evil spirit from the LORD
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

How about this God admitting he kills CHILDREN!
Exodus 11:5, 2 Kings 2:23 - 24, Revelation 2:23

How about this God being afraid of what people may do?
Deutronomy 32:27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.

Or what about God lying to Adam. Genesis 2:17 for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 3:4 - 5 Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened Genesis 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened.
CLEARLY GOD LIED!

YOU GOING TO TRUST AN EVIL CHILD KILLING LIAR?

PEople may twist it,yup, youre right. Your priests are twisting it right now. I suggest you reaserch the religion you follow, and through, not your priest, but history books...unless theyve told you thats evil too now, i actually wouldnt be surprised.

Just look up the begghining of christianity and how it came around throughout history, some emperors who wer involved in strenghening it. It can't possibly hurt you, you'll just learn about your religion other than in the bible, so through someone elses eyes, a historians, just facts. Youll be surprised

I dont have anything against christianity and its main concepts but there are lots of things that have been 'added on' that are really bull, theyre selfish and morally wrong.

Glenda, in all honesty, it doesn't look to me that you want an answer to your question. It looks like you were looking for a forum to preach your perspective and your faith. Don't get me wrong here. I'm not saying what you wrote is wrong or bad. I believe many of the same things you do. However, there are also many people who view religion as the lie, as the mighty hoax to subdue humans and keep them from thinking for themselves. So don't be so quick to label your beliefs "THE TRUTH." Many will actively debate that with you.

You asked: "If you believe in Gid, where did the idea of God come from?" For you it is the Bible. Not a problem. For me it doesn't come from the Bible, which I see as a wonderful compilation of stories, passed down from generation to generation. I see the Old Testament as the written record of the stories that came down by word of mouth among the Hebrews, and the New Testament as a compendium of letters and stories circulated among the early Christians to spark faith in Jesus Christ.

For me knowledge of God comes from my life experiences, from being able to listen with my heart, from loving my friends and feeling love from them. My relationship with God is a personal one that could never come from a book, because He touches me everyday in the small things as well as the large. Sometimes I may seek guidance and inspiration in the Bible, but I am more likely to find it reading about someone who saved a child from a fire or who helped build a house for an elderly blind woman. For me, I have to lift my face out of the book to look around and come face to face with God in life. And I experience that every day. My best to you!

What you have said about God is very true, but then as you have said many people including some purporting to be Christians have tended to believe lies more than truth. Why?Satan is definitely pulling God's people back and his forces are stronger than ocean currents during Tsunami. Those of lesser faiths will be swept off board and they will drown. It is only faith and believing in God that will save us.Those who tend to believe in falsehoods are themselves evil.I think they have ability to judge what is evil and what is good.God gave us ability to do that. Falsehood will not benefit this world and they should know it is the same thing that betrayed Jesus in this earth and the sooner we discard it the better.God bless us all and let us have truthfull time.

The things you have mentioned are what I call the "Fundamental Truths" (help others, be tolerant, love thy neighbor, all that). And I am not a Christian.

It is my opinion (solely my opinion, as I'm not the most well-informed) that many Christians focus too much on just accepting Jesus, and not on following his teachings. What good is it to say "Jesus is my savior" if you don't stop and help someone who's dropped their things, or offer a kind word to someone who's lost a loved one?

From what is said here, it seems that you are the kind of Christian the world needs.

Generally people believe in lies easily because they give a sense of hope, albeit false. Life can make a person weary enough to be blind to truths staring him\ her in the face. And after all , what is actually Truth? Two people can percieve the same situation in two very differet ways and therefore have very different conceptions of Truth and Falsehood. In my opinion, a person shpuld be able to believe in anything s\he wants as long as it does not hurt anybody else. Life is harsh let us live with our hopes and lies!

God said most people would go for the lie. They go through the gate that is broad and spacious but it leads to destruction. Few people find the narrow gate and the road to life. Matthew 7:13
