Because I have been doing that as well. It began with fleeting feelings here and there that, "I shouldn't be watching this," or "What good purpose is this show or movie about?" Now, I find myself becoming increasingly selective in what I watch, often opting to not watch anything at all. This has come from no conscious effort on my part, but gradually over time. What do you think?

Just last night I came to the conclusion that if Trump and the Nanny and all the rest of the trash had been presented in the early days of televison, it would have died a quick death. I dumped my cable a long time ago. All I need is the BBC World News, and the NBC Nightly News. That's all.

When i was young, we lived in a company town for Sylvania TV. There was a Pentecostal Church, whose members did not own TVs, as they were thought to be the tool of the devil, yet they all worked at the plant.

Television has become troubling for many, these days, of many religions, though you have to wonder why we have to much trouble with it. In Japan, much TV programming would be considered R and X rated by our standards, yet they don't have 1/10th our problems, per capita, with rapes and other crimes.

Hey why not just denounce all technology and become Amish?

Amen, that is the way it happened to me, first it was regular tv, then the Christian tv, now I don't have a tv in my house at all.

The closer we get to the Lord the farther away we get from the things of man (earth).

Praise God that he is leading you, and I can tell you from experience anything he takes away he replaces it with something better, usually more of himself.

God bless you.

Movies on the other hand ... I could not live without them!

I've never been a big TV watcher, but I didn't renounce it for religious reasons. I just usually find it dull. There are other things I'd rather be doing.
