My ex-boyfriend's best mate has told me he has liked me for a long time and really wants to be with me, he is a great guy but im worried that because he is good friends with my ex (who has been telling people all my personal details and threatening me) its just a nasty game their playing together, what should i do?

I have a feeling that your hunch may be correct. They might be playing a game with you, or are trying to. Either way, if you ex would be so vindictive like you say, you want to distance yourself from him as much as you can. Dating his best mate would just bring you close to your ex again, which is what you don't want.
Just tell him no and move on with your life.

There are plenty of fish in the sea. Stay out of this situation. You never know what could be going on with guys. Find yourself a guy that is in no way related to your ex...that way you will be better safe than sorry.

I'd probably steer clear of him just in case. You don't want to put yourself in danger just for a relationship. There are alot of other guys out there for you to get to know.
