as a painting contractor I can tell you wallpaper and vinyl is making a come back ,,vinyl especially on ceilings particularly if soffit lighting is involved, since i worl in the luxury home market,I also see that decorative (faux) finishes are really becoming the big thing ,especially trowled on coatings like decorative plasters and also metallics with a tinted glaze are popular.

I just watched the International Home Furnishing Show and black and white furniture (black and white prints) are real big along with glitz like mirrored chests, crystals, etc.
