Mosquitoes are present where ever there is stagnant water. You can get rid of it to some extent, but what about water trapped in the bark or trees and inaccessible parts of the plants? I stay at Dubai and we dont have any mosquito problem here, not even one to be seen, thanks to the dessert area and proper drainage system. But I found some in the parks here. So I feel its due to the trees in the surrounding areas. Mosquito net is, according to me, the best solution.

Also you can put a dryer sheet in your pocket, rub on exposed skin. Also try a plate of lemon dish soapy water. Bats eat mosquito's, as do purple Martins, frogs. You can also use citronella oil lamps to ward them off.
