Mosquitoes are present where ever there is stagnant water. You can get rid of it to some extent, but what about water trapped in the bark or trees and inaccessible parts of the plants? I stay at Dubai and we dont have any mosquito problem here, not even one to be seen, thanks to the dessert area and proper drainage system. But I found some in the parks here. So I feel its due to the trees in the surrounding areas. Mosquito net is, according to me, the best solution.

Let me give you a true life example. My house used to have a few mosquitoes, who were quite a menace. They would bite all of us. All my family members would kill the mosquitoes who came near them. But I let them go and NEVER tried to kill them for a few weeks. Now, for the last nine days, I haven't been bitten even once, while my family still gets bitten regularly! This is the power of non violence and goodwill.

Also you can put a dryer sheet in your pocket, rub on exposed skin. Also try a plate of lemon dish soapy water. Bats eat mosquito's, as do purple Martins, frogs. You can also use citronella oil lamps to ward them off.
