Because either consciously or not you have invested in this person emotionally ; and its really hard to let go . because at that point you are willingly to do almost any thing to keep some thing that you had with another person . If you are trying to let go , which it seems like you are ; you should know its a process and there is no way to speed it up and hanging out with other boys wont help ! even Theo its hard and it takes a really long time to be able to let go , you shouldn't deny yourself the truth that all you shared with that other person was special and that it has changed you in one way or another . Try to learn from what happened to hopefully have more fulfilling relationships in the future . I really hope this made you feel better !

..........because the history and the memories won't release thier grip from your thoughts.....especially if you continue to live in the same town as those memories were created. Time does eventually blur the edges and soften the pain.
