I've read the Bible. It's a very important and fascinating text, and I think probably everyone should read it at least once in their lives, along with the Qur'an, Epic of Gilgamesh, Odyssey, and other classic and culturally monumental texts.
I praise parts of it (e.g., "love thy neighbor"), and criticize other parts (e.g., slaughtering the first-born of Egypt). This is because I try to keep a critical eye on any text I am reading, rather than slipping into the too-easy habit of assuming that something (or someone) is 100% right or 100% wrong. The real world is never that simple.

I have read a lil in the bible. And I am mostly right all the time when an issues arises concerning the bible. I am sad to say I don't read it anymore so I thought I was clever when I bought a bible dvd containing the old and new testament. I figured if I won't read it like I should I will at least listen to it. Best book ever written. You are the critic-what is wrong with the preachers on tv? I don't think the verse has much to do with anything here. Why do so many people talk to mirrors?

I do read the Bible and you have stated a truth the world does not want to hear. Today many churches are so full of grieveous wolves as Paul prophecied. In Revelations 2 and 3 God warns of the deeds of the Nicolaitanes and today these have infiltrated the church and turned the truth of God into something else.
I believe the Bible and not what any church or bishop says.

A Christian should read their Bible daily. Scripture reading is like exercise for the Body. The more you read it, the stronger and wiser you become spiritually with God's guidance. I personally don't get frustrated when someone says my beliefs are foolish, nor do I get stressed trying to change the beliefs of those who deny God. Why? My energy could be put to better use, helping those who are open to learning about the Lord. I do agree that a lot of Christians do not study their Bible as they should, which puts them at a disadvantage when dealing with demonic influence and Unbelievers.

I do and I continue to know God more and more thru His Word. It deepens my relationship with Jesus. Isn't it amazing how many can read the Bible and continue to be atheists? Just proves what the Bible teaches: You can read the Word of God and still not believe. You may gain head knowledge, but not heart knowledge of God/Jesus. Even satan believes and trembles (biblical). You can know, but unless your heart and mind is open to truth, to God's Manual for livilng, to a relationship with Jesus, to the Holy Spirit, it's just another book. It's The Holy Spirit that gives us Understanding of God's Holy Word. To the natural man, the Bible seems foolish (biblical). In order to twist God's Word, one has to have read some of it, right? This is satan's most cunning deception. Too bad for their eternal souls, that some buy into his lies.

Lot's of people here read the Bible. That should be pretty clear from the answers offered.
(Does anyone else ever wonder if some participants here live in small rooms with newspaper articles covering the walls from floor to ceiling and pushpins with yarn connecting the subliminal messages?)

Pauls letter to the church of Philadelphia? I do not remember the bible saying that. It does say Pauls letters to the Phillipians. So I guess that means I read the bible. If you are going to preach, get your sermon right so people will listen. ><>

I have read it through. more than once.
As an example, look up Psalm 83; 18 in the 1611 King James translation, and compare it with the same scripture in the New World translation, used by all J.W's.
It state Almighty God's PERSONAL name.
Not his Title, which is LORD.

I read the entire bible every year. I have been doing this for thirty years. Before I left the Jesuit Novitiate, I read the bible six times in two years. I am a Christian.
Every time I have read the bible I have learned something new, too.
