Laptop Jesus seems to make a good argument, except that those he speaks of obviously pick and choose the parts of history and the known record of those councils of Nicea that supports THEIR ideas, just as some pick and choose the parts of the bible that do the same. By the way, there are FAR more accurate translations since the King James version, and they're based on older, more reliable manuscripts.

Slow down and realize most of the people in the world care nothing for your god, and your religion is merely one of hundreds, but one of the most hated, feared and despised because of people like you who can't tell the difference between their belief and the objective truth.

Most of those "guys" are people who have studied it. They know what languages the book was written in orginally. They know about the first and second councils of Nicea and who decided which books would be in the bible and which would be out. They know about King James (King James Version), what he was like and who he hired to translate it and why.

That's mostly who they are. Who are you?

Your god only exists in your imagination.
It is time to grow up and cast aside childish things.

Tell you what, since we're quoting scripture, let's use your logic of how sacred and true-to-be-followed the Bible is.

"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell. (From the NIV Bible, Matthew 5:28-30)"

"If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell. (From the NIV Bible, Matthew 18:8-9)"

I hope you don't look at women. Or masturbate. Or erm. Do anything wrong with your foot. But I bet you'll come up with a reason why we shouldn't take that part literally right?

And how about some self-contradiction? I love it when that happens:

Deuteronomy 24:16: "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin." (KJV)

Ok, so why's this there:

Exodus 20:5: "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them (idols), nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me."

So the parents won't suffer because of the children, and the children won't suffer because of the parents, but the children and their children and THEIR children will suffer because of the parents. Nice.

But okay, you're quoting Leviticus to condemn gay people. Let's look at that passage:

Lev 20:13 - "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination."

Mm'kay, so gay people are going to hell. Let's look deeper into Leviticus and see what we find!

Lev 10-12 - "And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you."

Well gee, I guess that means that any of us who eat shrimp, or lobster, or crab, or any other shellfish are going straight to hell too. Red Lobster, anyone?

There's a lot more, but I don't want to take all of Y!'s space up here, so. The bible's full of self-contradiction and limited understanding. Oh and IT WAS WRITTEN BY HUMAN BEINGS.

By the way, if you're going to preach, at least learn to effing type, because scripture's insane enough as it is, it doesn't need you to make it worse.
