I had a guy pursue me for 7 years and we were absolutely the best of friends. It is a tough decision to make and I finally went out with him (mostly due to other friends influencing me to give him a chance). We had a great relationship for the most part but ended up parting and not being friends. In my opinion, I almost wish I wouldn't have dated him and we would still be great friends now. There's nothing wrong with giving it a whirl, I suppose but just always know that things could end up the way mine did. If you want to know more, you can email me.

Does she have a bf? Could be a reason for her distance at school. Also lots of people start out as friends before they get married (not to say it's heading there) so you sound like a great guy for her. I don't really see why you are worried.

She is just trying to be a good friend for you
Since you are finding all your answers from her you are thinking that she can be the right one for you.... things changes when you become lovers so think more don't break your friendship since she might find it difficult to see you as a friend if you propose her and if she denies it... so wait and try to find out whether she is really interested in you or not

you're perfect for her BUT she doesn't want to risk the friendship---it's so weird to see this from a guy because it's usually the girl that falls for the best friend. it's hard but like i tell all the girls, let it go, date other girls and hope that one day you'll find one the measures up to this girl or that she one day feels the same way about you. it sucks, but having her as a friend is better than not at all--telling her you're in love with her could lead to you losing her for good---your choice! i hope you make the right one!
