it will stay in your system anywhere from 3 to 30 days, it all depends on the quality of it... but you are 7 months and just now quiting????? sorry but i think its kind of sad that you didn't do so already, because the damage might already be done to the baby, since a lot of the development is done prior to 7 months....... well i guess at least you quit...

Honey, don't take the abuse. It will be out of your systems withim 30 days at the longest. Yes, it wasn't right to get intoxicated or smoke while pregnant, but it appears that pot is safer than either cigarettes or alcohol during pregnancy. Accoring to Your Pregnancy Week By Week, a book written by a doctor, the only possible effects on baby are things like ADD, which they really can't prove the cause of, anyway...it's just a suggestion. Whereas cigarettes cause low birth weight and alcohol causes mental and physical defects.
My friend didn't know she was pregnant until she was nearly 6 months (had irregular periods, wasn't showing, etc), so she continued smoking pot until that time. Then she quit...and now baby is a healthy, ahppy nine month old girl! It's never a good idea to put anything not medically approved in your system while pregnant, but pot has never been linked to any mental or physical deformities. I know that wasn't exactly your question but I thought you might need some reassurance!

suppose to be 30 days, but theres one thing ill have to tell u, i have a friend, her sister in law smoked pot all throughout her pregnancy and guess what? baby was born almost 2 months early. so u better hope she stays in there, or the hospital will probably take her away like they did to my friend's nephew. hes in foster care because his mother tested positive at birth because she thought she had longer. but im not trying to scare, just let u know what happens sometimes. and im sorry but i do agree with lots of people on here. it was really unfair to ur baby for u to do that to him/her. its bad enough that people smoke around pregnant women, but when the woman is doing herself. it makes me sad.

From when I heard a few years back, pot can stay in your system for at least 30 days. Take care.

The initial effects created by the THC in marijuana wear off after an hour or two, but the chemicals stay in your body for much longer. The terminal half-life of THC is from about 20 hours to 10 days, depending on the amount and potency of the marijuana used. This means that if you take one milligram of THC that has a half-life of 20 hours, you will still have 0.031 mg of THC in your body more than four days later. The longer the half-life, the longer the THC lingers in your body.

Congrats on quitting but i hope your not gonna start up again once the babies born. for you the damage may not be severe but for your baby at 7 months and that much exposure there is a lot of risk of permanent damage, and this is something you should be very concerned about. find a good site that can give you details of the effects of smoking pot to you and your baby. you'll be shocked to learn that you have increased your babies chance for mental diseases such as schizophrenia , or bi polar not to mention increased your risk as well as all the physical effects. please look into this and be sick be horrified and know that you did that to your own unborn child. how cruel

A Answer (Published 5/21/2003)
It is always best to avoid drug exposure during pregnancy, especially during the first three months, but having said that, I find very little evidence that smoking marijuana during pregnancy is as harmful to babies as smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol. In fact, last year the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology published results of a study involving more than 12,000 women that looked at the association between using marijuana before and during pregnancy and the outcome of pregnancy. The researchers found that five percent of the women reported smoking marijuana before or during their pregnancies. Those who continued to smoke marijuana at least once a week before and throughout pregnancy gave birth to babies whose birth weights were slightly lower than the other women's babies although the difference wasn't statistically significant. There were also no statistically significant differences in the birth-length and head circumference of the babies born to the women who smoked pot. Based on these observations, the researchers concluded that smoking pot during pregnancy wasn't associated with increased risks to the babies.
However, those findings may not tell the whole story. Earlier studies suggested that babies born to women who used marijuana during pregnancy display altered responses to visual stimulation, increased tremors, and a high pitched cry, which may indicate problems with nervous system development. During pre- and early school years, youngsters exposed to marijuana during pregnancy have been reported to have more behavioral problems and difficulties with sustained attention and memory than other children.

Researchers don't know if these effects disappear or persist as children grow. There is also a chance that other problems may come to light later since some parts of the brain continue to develop into adolescence. Bottom line: There is no hard evidence that marijuana is as dangerous as tobacco or alcohol when used during pregnancy, but it's always best to err on the side of caution.
Dr. Andrew Weil
study published in the May issue of the journal Pediatrics analyzed the cognitive performance of 354 babies between 6 and 13 months, born to mothers who had used different drugs during pregnancy.
Alcohol use during pregnancy was associated with poorer cognitive performance. Cocaine and tobacco use was associated with smaller birth size. Cannabis use produced no detectable effects compared to mothers who abstained entirely.

Seven months pregnant and only now quitting pot? You couldn't possibly be concerned about the welfare of your baby. God, I can't believe you women, what's wrong with you?
I don't care if you think I am insulting you, you are an insult to motherhood! Use your head woman! If I were CPS, I'd take your baby from you as soon as it is born.
You don't have any business being a mother!!!!

a long time...you will get it out of your system in a couple months the baby oh man...not good for the baby. Babies gets prone to drugs in those early stages so will not make it regardless of you stoping at this point. Even tylenol effects a baby. I cant imagine smoking weed. Please do not do that to your child especially if you want this child. I still do not see why you would do that...selfish.

I'm not sure. I hope you are honest with your OBGYN so that he or she can help you and your child. I pray that you will have the strength to stay away from it when you are a mother, and that you have not harmed your unborn child.
I wish you and your baby the best.
