I would like free housing and Im born American so why would immigrants get it when I don't? English lessons or job placement is fine for legals, but free housing should be given to citizens before we give it to immigrants. Be real man. We are loyal to our own regardless of what you have heard. We prosper, then we may or may not let immigrants. Common sense. They already get that tax break that we dont which is so unfair its sickening.

I like the idea of free English lessons, also mandatory English lessons for minors (non-English speakers). As far as housing and jobs go, immigrants can work for it like the rest of us. Legal immigrants are tax exempt for five or more years. That should be more than enough for them. I love knowing people from many cultures, but there are plenty of Americans who need housing and jobs. I see no reason to favor one group because of their recent arrival status.
Good Question!

Help your own citizens first, illegal are breaking the law. How about job placement for American citizens our jobs are going south, Hershey is moving to Mexico and laying off 1500 workers, so what the hell are you talking about. Soon their will be no jobs for us, just for illegal aliens. It makes me sick. And they should be speaking English before they even come here, as required when people come legally. New immigrants if they are coming legally should already have a job and a place to live and no English, or they will not be allowed in. That is exactly how Mexico works it, no one is allowed in if they don't speak Spanish.

I am all for immigration -- helps mix up the gene pool and people who immigrate are generally smart go-getters.
But, I don't think free this-and-that is beneficial for attracting go-getters. Their workplace and churches should provide free English lessons, housing information, job placement programs for spouses, etc. It shouldn't be the government, because the government is too far away from the immigrants themselves. The workplaces and churches really *know* them.
Of course, children should get medical care (if available) and public school education; it's not their fault that their parents came to this country. They should not be deprived of the same opportunities as children who are citizens. I'm not saying special programs -- just the same. Again, churches and workplaces should provide help in translations, etc.

Absolutely NOT! When in Rome do as the Romans Do. There has been many LEGAL immigrants to this Country, but NEVER have we cantered to them as we are doing to the ILLEGAL Mexicans! If they wanted to illegally come to this country, learn the language. They don't pay taxes so why are they entitled to these programs while other AMERICANS have been waiting years for these services. Why aren't we putting Americans first?

If they are legal immigrants, they should already have a basic understanding of English, a job and provide their own housing. They wouldn't be accepted otherwise. You must be referring to illegal aliens. ok

I don't think anything should be free. I think if they want it bad enough they will be willing to pay for it. If it is free to immigrants then it would not be free to the tax payers. That means us, or at least me.
