You won't find the life partner that is meant for you until you stop looking for them. If your looking you will see everyone you meet at first as "the one" and then realize later it was a mistake. If you are not looking than "the one" will appear and you will know it without question. Getting them to realize it is a whole different problem all together.

I prayed for a life partner that share the same believes (Christianity) since I was in high school. I dated some men in the past, one I thought was the one. I prayed and prayed to God that I want him to be the one (even when the guy was verbally abused me and physically abused me) and I want God to change him to be a better man. But you see my mistake was ? I prayed what I want, not what God wants. So when the answer was no, I was crushed and angry. Until I realized my mistake, and I prayed that whoever and whenever God gives me, that will me the best thing for me. I stopped pushing my own agenda, and surrender to God.
I met my husband 7 years ago. He's a strong Christian and we've been married for 4.5 years now. It took times, it took so many tears, and it took a lot of faith. But it's worth it.

lickthecactus (LOL) love the name.......i have been praying for a godly husband for 16 years. Thats how long I have been single after raising 3 kids and now i have 2 beautiful grandaughters. You cannot put a time limit on it. His time is not the same as ours. There is also the possibility that you may stay single for a certain number of years possibly half your life.Depending on God's will & purpose for your life. It will truly depend on whether or not you will force the issue in your own time or will you choose to wait for the Lord to bring someone into your life. It's tough however as we get a little older and a little wiser it does get better. As for me ,I just keep moving & working & serving Him. Now I'm at the point, if He does bring someone good ,if not good....I'm content......Have a Blessed Day <><

God may send you a life partner. But its not like there is only one soul mate out there for you. God will send you multiple oppurtunities and will open and shut doors. He will put it in your hands to decide to marry a particular person. And no matter who you choose you can have a wonderful and successful marriage as long as you both have God as the center of your life.
I personally started praying for God to prepare a girl for me when I was a teenager. I told them that I was no longer going to pursue girls and I did not need them. I wanted to puruse a relationship with God. After about 10 months a girl came into my life out of the blue. After a few dates, we become official and then we got married a few years later. There is no telling how long it could take. But I can promise you its not an exact number like 365 daily continous prayers. It all depends.

When you pray you should ask for something if it is God's will. God knows what is best for us, and prayer isn't a magic way to get everything that you want. However, the Bible does tell us to be persistent, and it doesn't hurt to ask, indeed God wants us to ask for His help.

I have prayed for God's will to be done and planned my life alone, submersing myself in my education. God must have known my heart because just when I settled in to this mindset and became free and comfortable with the idea of being alone..... he sent the man of my dreams. We've been married almost five years now. Good luck to you and don't lose hope. I was 33 when I got married.

I've been asking for my mate for a long time. Now that I am here, today, I understand the path I am on, and it will take me to her. But I am the one slowing it up, not YAHWEH.
