I have been a sufferer of anxiety and panic attacks. I am not a great admirer of any prescription drugs to deal with the problem. I used prozac which made me feel numbness. This made me look for alternative treatment.

I recommend a combination of hypnotherapy and natural or herbal medicines because it worked for me. This is true that people may react differently to different treatments but this is a worth a try. This method of treatment has no side effects.

For information on hypnotic and natural/herbal treatment of anxiety go to the following source....Good Luck!!

My panic attacks and anxiety was so bad I developed agoraphobia couldn't travel anymore.Couldn't even go to my Dr. without having panic attacks I became so claustophobic.I thought Dr.was writing me a script, when I looked at it,it was to a psychiatrist, was the best thing that ever happened to me.He put me on the lowest dose of Xanax er and paxil.I can now travel I don't try to jump out of cars because I have claustophobia.I now have a better and fulfilling life.

I have been taking Prozac for over 10 years for my anxiety disorder. It has literally saved my life. I also see a therapist every week in addition to the meds. Once I went off of the Prozac for about 6 months and the difference was very frightening. Medication and therapy won't "cure" your anxiety, but it will definitely help manage it.

any sort of depression can be tide over by faith in GOD and sincere prayer.

Your prayer is from your heart. Further You must have to understood the fact that God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.
Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation

I take Zoloft and I love it. I take it for depression, but my mom takes it for anxiety and panic attacks.

I've take Lexipro and Celexa in the past. Lexipro was great, but expensive, and my insurance wouldn't cover it because it's a newer drug. Zoloft and Lexipro are basically the same thing though, according to my doctor. I didn't feel like the Celexa did anything for me at all, even though they kept upping my milligrams.

With these type of drugs, SSRI's, you have to sort of guess-test to see what's right for you. My roommate was on Effexor for awhile before it stopped working for her.

Some type of long acting benzodiazepine (Klonopin would be best) combined with an SSRI (I personally take Zoloft), and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Therapy with an experienced and well trained psychologist. Medication should be used as a last resort not a first.
