i work with my hands a lot!!! and my parents say that if i wash my hands when i get home i can get arthritis?? is this strue should i wait? if my hans are warm??!

No. Arthritis is the result of chronic tissue damage in the joints, which the immune system has not repaired. The inflammation of arthritis is an immune response for the body to "come fix this."

You would see loads of nurses with arthritis if this was true, although they tend to use the fancy gel stuff now.

I have never heard that one. It is not true. That is not what causes arthritis. It is caused by wear and tear on joints.

If anything, washing your hands would COOL your joints, and cause any swelling to subside. No disrepect intended to your parents; they sound like they've simply heard some old wives' tales that they haven't really thought though.
