Yes, but we are losing the war in Germany according to the online CIA factbook. The death rate in Germany is twice that of Iraq in 2006. Meanwhile the new tactics in Iraq have led to 70% less violence in Iraq since last year. The Iraqi police and soldiers should be trained and equipt by June of this year.
Since the troops were a stop gap measure while the Iraqi police and soldiers were being trained, there would be little use for the U.S. to stay except to train more Iraqis.

I think the fact that we invaded Iraq four years ago and are still asking if we are "winning the war" demonstrates just how dire our circumstances are. There is nothing that could possibly end this civil war. Don't blame liberals, either...the only thing that could possibly help would be to send our entire army and marine corp. and not even conservatives would be willing to do that, so don't blame the liberals...it's a lost cause. And by the way, it was a Republican president and Republican-controlled Congress that authorized this war (a minority of Democrats actually supported it, contrary to popular belief...they were basically a "minority of a minority". In addition, it was the liberals, or leftists, whatever you want to label them, who warned the most against this invasion and the problems our country would face, and ya know what? They were absolutely right.

For the people who say we lost already or say it's a lost cause, they are WRONG!! The only way it can be a lost cause is by leaving Iraq! It takes time!, people think it should be easy but it's not, we cannot afford to lose because our enemies will just be embolden and Iraq will be full of enemy training camps. Some say Iraqis don't want us there, tell that to a Marine or a soldier, they will tell you it's a lie. Maybe some don't want us there, but most do.
We can win this war, but now there is a new enemy..DEMOCRATS!!

Sure are.
Check out http://www.patdollard.com and http://www.outsidethewire.com
Lots more links in 'SOURCES'...
Obviously, I could go on. If you read the stuff written by the folks who live in and are deployed in or who are embedded in Iraq you get a VERY different story than you do from the Leftwing MSM or the Liberal politicians.
Enjoy!

PS: For those yakking about how 'DIRE' it is that we're still in Iraq four years after we invaded...We are still in Bosnia more than 10 years after we invaded. We're still in Grenada and Panama more than 20 years after we invaded. We're still in Japan and Germany more than 50 years after we invaded. We're still in Korea 50 years later too. Did we lose all of those?
Get a clue. It takes time to create a democracy in a land that's never had ANY experience with it, much less an area that's chock-full of sectarian strife and one where we just overthrew the government. It took years for Japan and Germany to settle down too.
Youre so inaccurate, it's not even funny: http://archives.cnn.com/2002/ALLPOLITICS/10/11/iraq.us/
Resolution authorizing force in Iraq: 29 Democrats for, 21 Against in the Senate. In the House, total votes were 296-133.

The Civil War in Iraq--we are not fighting in it--were just targeted by-standers. And you can't win an occupation--so--tough to answer.
The War for Oil--were not winning that one either.

YES and will win any other one that comes along. We are relentless and everyone knows this. We are not getting soft just because ugly liberals want us to be.
