Dear Jon,
I speak up BECAUSE I have seen for myself what Watchtower Witnesses teach and what they teach is what the Watchtower says the Bible says rather than what the Bible really says.
I grew up with a mother who is a jw who told me that if I didn't become a jw by February 3, 1962 then Armageddon would come and I would not be saved. Well February 3, 1962 came and went but Armageddon did not come. And Deuteronomy 18:20-22 makes it abundantly clear that God hates the lies of false prophets.
I'm not sure how many times the Watchtower has printed specific dates for Armageddon but not a single one of them has been fulfilled.
I have read a lot of the literature provided by relatives and people who knock on my door. I read the NWT but cannot call that a Bible because it is not divinely inspired like the Bible is.
I beg to differ with your last comment because you are criticizing me by your question. Again, you cannot show me what the Bible says but only what the Watchtower says.
I was given material by jws last December that they assured me would prove to me that the Watchtower claim that Jesus Christ was the angel Michael. But it is not the Truth.

If I where you,I would try and consentrate on the many people that don't critisize you for your beleifs. A small majority of people can be bothered critizing Jehovah's witnesses. Some of these people have genuinly had very bad experiences with people belonging to your faith and are critisizing from a point of view that is very real and painful to them, perhaps somewhat justified.
You told us that you are imitating Jesus in your preaching work. Do you think Jesus spent his preaching career focusing on the people that where bitching about him or do you think he focused his attentions and good works on those that were responding to his campain?
From your question I derive that you are still young (lucky you) my advise to you, if you will accept is, its good to be fiesty and questionable however save your righteous anger for another day and promote peace today.

I think this is precisely the sticking point. No one wants to interrupt a good TV show or important household duties in order to hear some stranger preach the word of God. The bible is VERY easily accessible, and if I'm curious, I can go look it up when it's convenient for me.
However, you should do what you think is right. Just don't be so shocked and angry if you don't get a good reception. Look what they did to Jesus; I think most people are a bit more moderate these days and won't nail you to a cross for being a bother. But they might be thinking about it . . .
In any case, nobody likes a whiny matyr.

To be honest, JW's are on the same level in my book as Catholics, Mormons, Baptists, etc. I do sometimes get irritated by the door-to-door thing, but that's mostly because I'm not religious and I don't want people trying to convert me. It's not a personal affront, it's just a slight impatience on my part. I agree that people shouldn't judge without haven't actual knowledge, but such is life. Most mainline Christians will criticize anybody or anything that doesn't perfectly fit into their little world. It's ridiculous, in my opinion.

JW is a cult.
There is nothing wrong with going from house to house. You are not a bad person, but not all of the JW beliefs are based on the Bible, which makes it incorrect. Is it good enough to avoid 2nd death ? I hope so, for your sake. I have met some good JWs, but I don't think they understand that if you are truly living for God daily, people see your works AND they will question you ! If not, maybe you should ask yourself why not.
I will say that he diaglott is a wonderful, intelligent book, way ahead of it's time -especially sine that information was once eradicated out of existence by the Roman Catholics ! If you where I can get some more copies, let me know.

I have talked at length with Jehovah's witnesses that have come to my home (and one that I worked with also). They couldn't talk about anything but their one little line in Scripture - you quote other verses and talk about the balance of the meaning - comparing scripture with scripture and they don't know what to do. They left pretty quick once the Bible discussion got underway. So to say that you use the Bible as your only authority is pretty lame when you can't even discuss it in its entirety. And what worked (as a method) in Jesus day does not work as well today. Jesus stays the same but the method of delivering the message changes to accommodate a growing changing society. If you want to catch different kinds of fish then you need different kinds of 'bait.' Also your basic doctrines are "off" - they are not Bible based and that is one reason you can't fully discuss Scripture in its entirety. Any "religion" that says Jesus is not God is not a religion that has any salvation basis. And where do you get the idea that heaven is already full and noone else is going there? I don't find that in scripture anywhere. There are many, many things that I disagree with in your doctrine. And yes I consider JW a cult because it is not based on salvation by the blood of Jesus only and because you say Jesus is not God (the very basis of salvation).

I've looked at JW lately, beliefs, etc. For the most part, I agree with almost all of it, for it is of the bible.
But what kept me away....was the fact that past JW predicted items and put them down on paper, then those predictions didn't come true. Bible clearly says that is a sign of a false prophet.
Past that and a few quirks.....I have nothing against JW, as long as they realize I am already a believer and don't need to be pushed on. Now that is a turn off for any religion, to already believe but to be pushed.

One does not have to live with the Anti-Christ to recognize him when he arrives. Though I've had personal contact with the Witnesses, and have asked specific questions concerning their religion. One only has to read the publications released by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society to recognize teaching by this organization which is NOT in agreement with the Word of God. I agree, one should not form an opinion based on gossip or word of mouth discussion. However, Believers have an obligation to correct Biblical error and heresy when it has been detected and confirmed when tested by scripture. Blessings, Miji

I was brought up from birth into a Jehovah's Witness family. I spent more than 20 years going to their meetings, studying the Bible with them and going from door to door with the Watchtower and Awake magazines spreading the good news of the kingdom. I was even a pioneer. So, please realise, I know this religion and their beliefs inside out and back to front.
Having established my credentials as a person who knows what they believe, why they believe it and what they base their beliefs on I now want to assure you that my critisisms are based on fact and research. Specifically, my critisisms are based on the Bible, Jehovah's sacred and holy word.
Jehovah's Witnesses have been preaching a false gospel for over 100 years and all their false prophesies and predictions are catalogued in their own literature for ANYONE to read, providing they have the guts to check it out for themselves. The problem with JW converts is they NEVER check anything out for themselves. They take everything they are told as gospel. Will they check out the origins of the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society of Pennsylvania? They will not. Will they question what their elders and betters tell them? They will not. Will they read anything other than what they are told to read? They will not. Will they ask questions? They will not. WHY ARE THEY UNABLE TO THINK FOR THEMSELVES? Could it be FEAR? Fear that they will be expelled? Fear that they will not survive Armageddon?
The Gospel message Christ preached was a message of love and forgiveness. There is no fear in love because perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. Read 1 John 4: 7 to 21. The reason I left this man-made organisation was because it consistently made false prophesies about the end of this system of things (has been doing so for over 100 years but I don't expect you to believe that, nor do I expect you to check it out for yourself) and it holds people in fear. This is not the hallmark of God's people.
I think JW's are good, decent, honest, God fearing and Bible believing people. Trouble is, they've been deceived, and they don't know it. Nor will they acknowledge the possibility. No-one likes to think they've been duped. It is my heartfelt prayer tonight that if you genuinely want the truth, you will ask God himself and pray that Jesus will enter your life to become your Lord and Saviour. I'm afraid that JW's don't even know who Jesus Christ truly is. Do you? Can you pray the Lord's Prayer in the name of Jesus Christ knowing that the only way to the Father is through Jesus? God bless you.

Seventh Day Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses.
First Roman Catholic Bible was published at Rheims in 1582.
Second one published at Douay in 1609.
These called RCV version of Bible.
The Protestants regarded 7 books as ‘apocrypha’ (doubtful authority) and removed them from Bible.
(The Book of Judith
The Book of Tobias
The Book of Baruch
The Buck of Esther, etc. )
Jesus pbuh said in the book of Revelation Chapter 22 Verse 18-19 ". . . If any man shall add to these things (or delete) God shall add unto him the plagues written in this Book."
On deleting 7 books from bible, the Catholics call ‘cult of Christianity’ to the Seventh Day Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses.
Interpolation
