Active Duty drug tests utilize Gas Chromatography in order to test the samples. These drug tests have been scientifically proven to be 99.99% accurate multiple times in various courts of law.
When a sample tests positive on the first test, it is individually tested again. If it fails the second test, it is considered a positive drug test result.
The only way you can really challenge a positive drug test is if the chain of custody has been broken. When these drug tests are being done at the molecular level, that's actually testing for the after residue for drug use, it's highly unlikely to get a false positive unless the sample was tampered with or mislabeled.

I read an article in the paper the other day where a school did random drug tests on their pupils and two children tested positive for crystal meth. A private test by the families involved tested negative. It turns out that it was the toothpaste they'd used!
I would protest your innocence and ask for a re-test. If they refuse, have one done privately. If you are Asthmatic then the drugs in your inhaler could affect the reading.

Shame this is hard. Ask them to re-test you and see what happens, you are in basic now not phaze two? If they believe you then you will have to have CDT's all the time no matter what you were doing if they did one you would be on your own and things like that. You can still stay in but you have to have a clean record and they can do hair tests to see that you have never taken drugs only the time they have tested you. Write a bladly good letter to your Sergent and explain things or go and talk to him yourself. Get the hair test but you will have to stay a little longer in basic i.e 5weeks for your hair to grow. Good luck i do hope it works out fine. Get tested again and see what happens.
Good luck

Ask nicely for a re-test explaining that you have never taken drugs.
I am reminded of the Winter Olympics in Japan where a snowboarder tested positive. Not for steroids though of course, for pot!
His explanation was that as this was to be the first snowboarder Olympics he had taken it seriously and although had used in the past was clean for months just for the Olympics.
Of course his friends and supporters had created a blue haze in his room every night.
His excuse was passive smoking.
Good luck with your next test, be firm about the truth but polite with it.

As a Drill Sgt I've seen this a few times when the soldiers come back from exodus. Most of the times the soldiers did use some sort of narcotic, but one soldier was on prescribed drugs and he presented the proper documentation and he was excused. If this is the case for you, use the same measures. If you used the drugs admit it, get your article 15 and your tongue lashing and man up. If you deny it , get retested and your postive, I'm sure your company commander will make sure you will get screwed, good luck.

Now you have to think of this have you taken any drugs that a doctor has given you? that can be anything from IBpro to a shot you got for the flu or even something for pain that can be traced and this would be for the last 3 weeks or even less. Think it over and then come up with a way to show your chain of comand the information you have come up with. My husband failed his too but he had been given meds for pain and forgot what he took and forgot to tell his chain of comand and he got it straight with them in a few days when I told him about the hospital visit he had that was 3 weeks before the test. So good luck and have fun hunting.

If you answered a question on Yahoo Answers, and it appeared on screen, but you know that, as God is your witness, you DID NOT touch ANY KEYS WHATSOEVER....what sense would that make?
Obviously, it would seem it would NOT be up there unless you wrote it...........but if you TRULY DID NOT write anything, and you don't even OWN A COMPUTER, but THERE IT IS, up ON SCREEN, some words written in BLOCK CAPITALS, just y'know FOR EFFECT, would you have any way of PROOVING that you did not reply to AN IDIOT, who obviously knows SOD ALL, about ANYTHING.

In Basic training you are away from your friends and only with the other recruits.
If you did fail they should ask you to piss again, depending on the drug you popped for.
How do you access the web from Boot-camp?
If you don't do them you wont fail.
