How can anyone say with any authority that GOD absolutely CANNOT lie - or, for that matter, can or cannot do anything!?

How is it possible for a religious person to be so absolutely sure about their God?

Christians sound Exactly like Muslims, who sound exactly like Jews, defending what they believe...

Where is the information that will prove once and for all that either ONE of them is right, or better, that all of them are wrong! Can we get some dialogue, some debate that will settle these things? SOMEBODY IS WRONG and they ALL BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE RIGHT!

This is a horrible aspect of humanity! Will some of you at least, study the evidences AGAINST your religion from the experts from your ENEMY religion?

Come on! Take a week Muslims and study some of these links: Christians, you too!

Uhhhhhh.... Satan is the Father of lies, so being that God is the exact opposite he is the Father of truth. It is said that the one thing God hates is a liar, so it kinda self-explainatory. As far as religion goes (at the risk of sounding hocus pocus), I just think that there is alot of confusion that is prepetuated by the Satan himself. I read in bible that part where God said he is not the author of confusion, and that Satan will try to do just that confuse mankind, and all these different religions has surely done the trick. I believe their is only one faith, church, God, Devil, heaven, hell, baptism, etc. I think (90% sure, still researching) that its within a non-denominational Christianity within the Church of Christ. Overall this church seems to have it down pact (that is the ones that fully practice the doctrine according to the bible itself). But, one bad apple can spoil the bunch.. I say this cause even some of the otherwise "sound" Churches of Christ have become corrupted. I'm always looking to catch a religion in a lie, but so far, I haven't found any biblical inconsistencies with the foundations of this church. I was impressed how they glibly pointed out and tried to help the sister churches who have swayed from doctrine (how Christ wanted to be honored and have is church ran according to the bible).

In other words, I know this much.... you can have the correct and original family recipe for a pound cake started by your greatest grandmother. It was said that she warned not to add or take away from it because it would throw it outta wack (cook time, taste, consistency, etc.). Now its been passed down from generation to generation. But still, being stubborn or otherwise ignorant to what grandma said, over the years family members have added their own ingredients and/or disregarded other ingredients to suit their own taste. Now what you've wound up with is a "sock-it-to-me" cake still being called and passed off as your greatest grandmothers famous pound cake! Well, its no longer the orginial cake and if she was alive to see it she would not recognize and would probably feel appauled and disappointed to see what has become of her treasured recipe. It has lost its identity, purpose and her touch, due to all the needless change. In the end one things for sure, whoever's been messing around with God's orginial recipe will be socked!

Well, if God is perfectly good, logically He cannot lie unless lying is good and He does it all the time. One would hardly expect such a contradictory being to create a universe with laws and constants, but here we have it.
I find it amusing that when you refer to enemy religions, the three that you pick out stem from the same religion. Christianity stems from Judaism after Christ's death, and I believe that the Muslim faith actually descends from this root as well after Muhammad had his visions.
If one takes this into account, one should not be surprised that Christians sound exactly like Muslims, who sound exactly like Jews...

You're not atheist are you ? If so, why are you in the religious arena ? Doesn't make much sense, does it ? Or are you attempting to resist something you know is correct ?
1. The bible tells us so.
2. Experience, trial and error, research, trust, a TINY pinch of Faith. Are you so sure of atheism that you are willing to flush your salvation down the toilet ? I hope not.
3. Let me correct you; Christians, No. Catholics, Sure. What you don't defend what you believe ? Communicating that defense is fine, however, once it oversteps boundaries it becomes obviously wrong.
4. I have. Sorry. I feel even more sorry for you, it is pitiful- wasting both your time and energy.

God has nothing to gain from lying.

Dude, think about it. He created everything we know. What can he possibly gain that he can't just create?

Men on the other hand have all kinds of motives, don't they? Including you. For example, why in the world would you go to so much effort to prove a religion wrong that you don't believe?

What exactly do you gain?

with all due respect. actually, i was once an unbeliever of Jesus Christ that i really doubted His existence. i have a lot of questions in my mind before like how can i be sure if there is really such thing as god and a lot more. this went on until Jesus Christ pierced the veil that covers my sight about reality. Jesus Christ is for real and also his words and his promises that are written in the bible. Jesus Christ is for real.. he is for real. my life started to have a meaning and significance because of Jesus. piece of advice, you don't know what you are missing. i'm telling you this because i was once an unbeliever and whenever i look back on how and who i used to be i actually thank god for accepting me, for loving me, for calling me his own, and for giving his life in order for me to be saved from eternal damnation.

about your question, God did not, does not, and would never lie. he can lie but i bet with all my life that he NEVER will. that is something i can testify for the rest of my life. for i, myself, proved it prima facie evidence and he is god, he is perfect, and he is never a sinner. his words and promises that are actually written in the bible are alive, they are for real. it is just a matter of faith (be it big or even as small as a mustard seed) because as long as you believe, gods words and promises will certainly work.

all the answers to your questions are in the bible. god bless you. =)

please do not let the enemy to deceive you about what is right and what is wrong. peace out! =)

Something is only as strong as you believe it to be and that belief is called faith. Thats all that some people need. Faith is what keeps some people going and gives them hope, no matter what aspect is comes from.

Thats all any religion is, faith. Just some have it in different ways and I don't think anyone is right or wrong.

I think that IF God does exist, his qualities are outside the realm of human understanding. As I'm writing this, not one person has yet used the Bible as support for this assertion. Surprising! Let's see what happens when I hit submit and read more answers.

Throughout history there have been many gods cruel and just. Everyone wants to beleive in a god that suits their daily needs.
When you beleive in God your not making a commitment to fight to protect your religion, rather your just going along with the group.
If you havent noticed, every section of the world has their own god. It is impossible to say which god is right, because there is no hard evidence. I myself am i christian, but i do not go out in public and say your God doesnt exist, because no one has the right to say that.
If you beleive in a God thats fine, keep it to yourself.
Also, mankind does not fight in the name of their God, they fight out of greed and personel interests.
For example, Europe is constantly fighting although they are mostly Christian.
