Okay, you are young and you will burn fat quickly. That's the good news. The "bad" news is that it will require some work. If you enjoy jogging, like you mentioned, then three times a week go for a 30-45 minute jog. You can also bike, rollerblade, swim or anything of the sort that gets your heart going. You always want to vary up your cardio or your body will get used to it and stop burning lots.

Sit ups will definitley help. Have you tried pillates? It's worth the 20 bucks or so to buy the abs tape and follow that 3 times a week as well. If not, do approx 20 min of abs 3-4 times a week.

Diet is also very important. Eliminate fast foods etc and things with lots of sugars. Make sure you eat your veggies and fruit, and don't forget your protien and milk products. You are a growing girl; it's important you don't become obsessed with losing wieght. Have fun with it, and you will find that you will feel much better and more energetic.

And girl, you are fifteen! Do not stress about this at all. You don't need to go on a strict diet. Simply eat normal portoins of all food groups and be active and you will have no problems.

Well, lots of cardio will certainly help. At least 30 minutes a day. But to tone it up, you'll also need to do crunches (not full situps!) every day. I'd start out slow, and build from there. A great cardio is step aerobics...really gets the metabolism burning! You can find the tapes or DVDs sometimes at rental stores...maybe try a few before you go buy one. Not sure about you, but $20 is a lot for me to pay for something that's just gonna sit on a shelf cause I don't like using it! You don't need to buy a step...you can use your steps outside the door (I'd recommend the back door unless you want the neighbors to think you've gone bonkers), put on some peppy music with a good strong back beat, and step to it. I lost 30lbs one summer doing this. Good luck!

As I sit here eating good and plenty and contemplate my own demise as far as "out of shape" goes! I hope we still have time!! 3 days a week 20 min. a day do abdomen and lower body one day and do upper body the next and on the 3rd day split half upper half lower. Do stretches first, touch toes standing, and sitting, spread legs and right hand to left toe and vice versa, stand and do side bends, then do crunches and sit ups, some straight up some to each side 20 each. Leg lifts 3 sets of 15. Lay on floor hands under hip bones, lift both legs slowly on the inhale, lower slowly exhaling. Squats, feet shoulder width apart 25. Butt tucks 50, front leg lift, 20 side 20 rear 20, do them with resistance as though a cable were attached, use your body against itself as tension. This simple routine will get the fat off in about 3 months if you are diligent and you must use resistance not just go through the motions. Good Luck!

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!

This website from Self Magazine allows you to set up a schedule.

Doctors and fitness experts recommend a minimum of 30 minutes exercise 3 times a week. More, say one hour three times a week, will get better results.

What I did to lose 50 pounds was cut my meals in half. Instead of a whole sandwich I would have half and instead of cookies and chips I would have fruit, granola bars or rice cakes. I did a lot of walking to with my dog. Good luck!!
