Hi, when my husband and I decide to put a walk way in our backyard...I wanted the path to look like stone...and not knowing how to do this..but did it anyway, when we mixed the concrete up I add different color dyes in...such as blues, different shades of brown a little red..until the stuff looked about the same color of stone and I didn't mix it totally..left some streaks of color in it..and in the end it came out really well...the one thing to keep in mind when the concrete dries it will be lighter in color....

now, if the concrete is already dry..I am not sure what the process is....but I did find a few sites you might want to check out... they have some tips on doing this.....

First you have to get a powerful concrete cleaner. This will 'etch' the concrete and prepare it for the paint or stain that will be applied. Next you can buy some stuff called floor varnish. It comes in 1-5 gallon buckets and is kindof expensive. It is recommended that you apply it using a sheepskin mop. Depending on the type of varnish you get, you can get a cool granite or marble look.

you pour down the new concrete make sure it is leveled and you take the stone mold and press on the wet concrete (you can ad some color to the concrete mix before pouring), then take the mold up very carefully, after it is dry you can paint it and sealed it.
