How to ask for a date after initial talk?

I have newly moved to US and feel veryyyyy lonely sometime as I dont know many people here.....I have had few ice-breaking talks with girls but I am not sure how to ask them for a date after that. I am not sure whether its wise and whether they will be feel cool to go out with a guy (say for cofee) whom they hardly know?

Well, say that you enjoyed talking to them and you'd like to do it again sometime. Ask for their e-mail address or phone number. After you've talked to them another time or two and you sense a connection, ask them out for coffee.
Don't ask them out right away, let them get to know you a bit first.
