I want to wear my hair half down with the poof (a la Jessica Alba [except w/o the lumps] here http://www.hairstyle.com/datastore/0/jessica-alba-poof.jpg ) but my hair will never stay poofed when I pin it that way, or half of it falls and it looks uneven and not sleek. Suggestions?

"Poofs" are created by teasing the hair to get that extra lift. This can best be acheived by sectioning your hair. The first section will be the cover section. The section after that will be raised and teased, as well as the section after that. The first section will be used to smooth over the following sections. Then use bobby pins the color of your hair to make it inconspicuous.
