They are the best trained military in any war. It would be great to double or even triple their training but right now the military can not pay for armor or better equipment. So who LL pay & how?
As a military Mom, I think they are doing great jobs. We fight by rules & are monitored by the world & Iraq & Afghanistan fight with no rules. They bomb schools, market places, kill innocent people & take their homes to setup traps for our soldiers. No one in the media or on this website seems outraged by them. Let any US soldier accidently shoot a civilian & you would think the US military were Satan's soldiers. Our soldiers are honorable men & women who voluntarily enlisted to serve the US & try to protect
others. They help to secure democracy & freedom. I think they are 10 out of 10.

Women have always served in the armed forces in some capacity. More recently, they have been serving in combat roles, flying combat and non-combat aircraft, and commanding troops in all MOS's. I had a female commander when I was in the military and she was very capable. The problem she faced was fitting in with the boys, and so she proceeded to chew tobacco and tell dirty jokes. Bad move which lost her the respect of many of the troops. I believe that women are just as capable as men. I mean, how much hand to hand combat do we do anymore? Women do not have to be expected to fight hand to hand, just as the men are not expected to do so. They simply have to shoot well, fire missiles at targets, drive vehicles, fly aircraft, well, whatever anyone else does. I enjoyed having women among the ranks. I think that to not want women around, especially when you are overseas in hostile areas, wondering if you are going to live through the day, is to be a bit of a chauvinist and perhaps even latently gay.

I know for a fact we are doing a great job. I've seen major changes in Iraq. I've been deployed twice and my third tour will be next month. We are building schools and watching the people vote for the first time ever. The news sensationalize the negativity for ratings. We are highly trained warriors and professionals. Our kill ratio isover 20 to 1 when we engage with our enemies.

On a scale from 0-10 a 20!

I think they are highly trained and highly motivated brave men.
They are hero's to the American people.
Our Armed Forces deserve our respect for what they are doing, not cynicism from the hippie types.

I think their doing well. It is always difficult to fight a virtually faceless enemy. They're more experience than almost any other group out there with the exception of elite few. It's tough, but their doing really well.

I think they are doing amazing. They are ill-equipped for urban warfare and yet have killed the enemy on a 20:1 ratio.
