I have been a 6-7 cups/morning of Starbucks French Roast coffee drinker for a few decades. Three weeks ago I abruptly cut my Starbucks to one cup, first thing in the morning and then switch to green tea. The benefits so far: no coffee stains on my teeth and no "jitters". And I haven't felt any adverse side effects (headaches, tiredness, etc.)

I should add the following detail: The 6-7 cups of Starbucks French Roast which I was drinking was made at my house, via Costco Starbucks beans and my blender...and I was adding full cream to each cup...so perhaps 100-200 calories a day of just cream alone has been shaved from my daily calorie intake! thanks for all of your support out there in Yahoo-Answer land. Isn't this a great planet?

First off, Starbucks coffee has a bunch of calories, and if you were having 6-7 cups of that each morning, the sugar and milk/heavy cream added into a lot of calories. For that reason, it's good you minimized the coffee intake to one cup. To make the change from coffee to green tea is even better. Green tea is an anti-oxidant, your metabolism will increase, you will feel healthier, and you will consume less calories. It can taste great too.

great job! You should be proud. I LOVE Starbucks, though, I rarely get to go there. How did you afford 6-7 cups of Starbucks coffee everyday?

Green Tea I think is just as addicting as Coffee. That is why I stopped having green tea. Even though there are many benefits to Green Tea. But if you are to choose one over the other Green Tea is more healthier for you then coffee is. As long as you don't over do it then you would get the jitters.

I'm proud of you!!! Green tea is full of antioxidants that'll boost your immune system. It doesn't leave a horrible smell on your breath either like coffee does.

yes u should be proud of not being a coffee addict anymore. however, tea also has caffeine and it has a diuretic effect like that of coffee. drink lots of water to balance your intake and output.

Umh...Ok, know what? Both coffee and green tea contains antioxidant and an antioxidant slows down aging. I am not forbidding you to take coffee or green tea, all you have to do is to observe moderation. To inform you both green tea and coffee contains caffein and this caffein can cause cancer. Prevention is better than cure.
