my son took a box (16 pills) of coriciden cough and cold pills aka "red devils" containing DXM and he is in a rehab program they have a 5 pannel test which tests for alcohol, benzodites(sorry for spelling) barbituates, amphedamines, cocain, and ecstacy. i was wondering if a box of coriciden would show up for any of these if he took them on saturday and took the test today. thank you very much

The result will probably be too vague to come up as a positive with a 5 panel test after 3 days and would have to be re-tested by another lab to be conclusive. There is no definite answer I can give you at this point, unfortunately. But the odds of the test being inconclusive are greater than a solid positive.
I can understand your need to ask, it's certainly logical and reasonable that a parent would inquire. What I CANNOT understand is the need for the previous answerers to make rude, judgmental, and opinionated comments about your son being in rehab, accusations of how and why he took the Coricidan tabs or whatever else that is strictly personal and of no relation to your inquiry. I give you credit for being concerned and asking a normal question and enduring the meager information given by arm-chair psychopharmacology-wannabees that should go to medical school before showing their ignorance on a public site.

Ok, first - how did he get the pills in rehab? If he was out on a pass and took them at your house, I wouldnt let him back. Second, yes, it could show up on a drug screen, but with only 5 panels, its highly unlikely. He has GOT to realize that over the counter drugs are just as dangerous, if not more, than street drugs. I would definitely let the facility know that this happened. Hiding it and hoping he'll pass the test is not helping him in the long run.
Best of luck to you and your son.

you could easily pretend the try. What you'll want to do is, about 3 or 4 hours before dropping the piss, start up ingesting a lot of water. also want fairly some electrolytes, so ingesting something like Gatorade is even extra useful. Then purchase a ingredient of aspirin and diet B2 from the pharmacist. I took round 16 aspirins, at the same time as i replaced into passing mine, yet 8 or so should be very well. Take 2 diet B2s each hour or with the purpose as well, 4 hours before the try. What this does is it turns your piss eco-friendly, and supplies it piss like features, so it resembles piss, even although, if you're ingesting a lot of water, you'll purely be pissing water (and no lines of something will take position contained in the water). Its been like 3 years because I did this for a job, so i do not undergo in options the technique precisely, besides the undeniable fact that it worked completely for me. sturdy luck.

The pills that he took are over the counter and probably will show up, but they may not count this against him. Why did he take a whole box??? A whole box of them may not be out of his system. Your son is trying to get a high from somewhere, even if it means taking an excess of O.T.C. drugs. He needs more help!!!

it should show up on general drug tests, and even the 5 pannel ones have that aspect in them. probably not under cocain or esatacy, but under one of the others. look at the ingredients and warnings part of the label, it should tell you.

i think you should be worried less about whether the pills will show up on your sons drug test and shielding him from the consequences of his actions. you should be worrying more about getting him the help he obviously needs.

Generally over the counter meds do not show up in drug screenings unless its ephedra, psudophedimine and other drugs that are newly considered legal. however if they draw blood they draw blood they could find out what he ate for breakfast that morning. best of luck! and if they did find out is it really a bad thing considering he's taking large amounts of potentially dangerous drugs he should continue to stay in rehab.

I hope they do. Obviously he still has a very serious problem with drugs. You should inform them of his relapse so they can help him. He needs much more help.

no, they wont show up. but from your concern( should should want them to) that he not be caught, i fear that you are indeed your "son" and you want the info for your self. why dont you just get clean and work your god damn program instead of trying to be slick?
