She lived that verse until she died.
A short story.
Last fall we celebrated my youngest sister's big 50th. She gave a party for people she cared about. At the party were a couple that were our neighbours about 40 years ago. During our conversations the wife said to me,"You know your mom's been dead for over 30 years, and yet when I'm not sure what to do or how to handle a situation, I ask myself, 'What would Elsie do', and repeat to myself her favourite verse. That always gives me a lot of courage."
