Didn't God make me perfect the way I am with all that I already need. Can't I overcome my inefficiencies by myself with God. I don't believe in meds, or maybe can't accept it. I believe in myself and trust in God. Screw meds. What do you think Jesus would say?

I only know what I believe, which is that depression comes from the same place as cancer, which is fallen man. Anti-depressants are fine if they help, or other treatments, such as exercise and nutrition. I wouldn't tell a cancer patient to go off her chemo, and I wouldn't tell someone who is depressed to "get right with God." And I am really tired of seeing other Christians do this.

God gave us people who are doctors with the ability to diagnose and prescribe medicines, many which are made from plants He created. If you need anti depressants for some kind of problem you should take them and then thank the good Lord for providing a way for you to be healed. Healing comes in many forms, medicine is one form.

I can't speak for Jesus, nor do I think anyone can. My view on it though goes something like this, if you can cope through spiritual means, without medical help great. However, there is no reason to suffer with something that medicine can treat. You wouldn't go without medical help if you had diabetes would you? Mental problems are a real illness and if a treatment can help you, why not at least try it.

God provided the world with many fine Physicians and other specialists for a reason. You are born perfect (in spirit) but your body is subject to the depredations of pollution, toxins and other messes in the world...and it is the balance of hormones and other chemicals in the body that produce depression or the lack of it...sometimes, you need to help your body back to normal if you've subjected it to a poor environment....like living in a city.

Jesus would not condem you for taking meds. I use them to treat a chemical imbalance in my brain (depression). I totally understand where you are coming from and it's a hard dilemma to deal with. Just remember that Jesus has the power to heal any sickness as well as any of his deciples. You are one of his deciples. You can heal yourself. Just tell the devil, whom is messing with you, to go away in the name of Jesus Christ. Due to te deal they made, satan must comply if it is said with conviction. But if you are not strong enough to do this, find someone else who is. But taking anti-depressants is no sin in any way. It's a helping hand.

I'll pray for your dilemma, and this will all sort itself out.

"In the name of Jesus Christ, I command that the devil back away from this Christian, my brother, and be healed by the Father and Son."

I am a Christian and I take Celexa which enables me to be a better mom, grandmother and wife. I think Jesus is glad that I take my medicine and take care of myself and my family. If you and your doctor decide medicine isn't right for you that's ok too. There are alternatives such as St. Johns Wart which is herbal and is supposed to help with depression. Talk to your doctor and whatever you decide good luck to you.

Why are you consulting fictional characters such as God and Jesus, that's just a book. I would either try to emotionally change yourself or bite the bullet and take the meds.

Jesus would tell you to stop acting like a Scientologist and thank your god for the vast experience and knowledge of doctors who have been able to help treat what is a neurological, not psychological, condition.

Would you refuse antibiotics for an infection of the brain? If you had a tumor in the brain, would you refuse chemo? So if your biochemical balance is off, why would you not take appropriate care of your brain to bring it into normal functioning?

It is written that God sent His Word and healed us of all our diseases. By His stripes we are healed. Jesus would say to claim His Promises revealed in the written Word, Holy Bible. Or also, in addition, the Holy Spirit will bring to mind the healing verses.

Sometimes, we need to submit to God in an area for the healing. In the mean time, medications can be a bandaid.

I had a problem with high blood pressure. Until I told these dry bones to rise up. I told my blood pressure to submit to God in prayer. So, God told me to quit taking my blood pressure meds. So I did. But I went through difficult trials shortly after. But had a break through, the root of my anxiety, was old wounds touched on. The anxiety also could cause me to shake, get red splotches and blood pressure to go up. But, then healing. And old wounds are being healed or are already healed. By God.

So, take the medication if you receive the OK in your spirit. But when you submit to God & Gods Word, resist satan, satan runs. Then if God directs you in your spirit to quit the meds, then obey & quit.

Submitting to Gods Word is just speaking or singing it (bible scripture, promises) out loud, or praising God. Lift up a voice of praise for (to overcome) the spirit of heaviness (depression). Praising God, whether clapping, lifting hands, singing, dancing, shouting, etc... brings God given deliverence.

Whatsoever things are true, honest, lovely, good reports, virtuous, etc. Think on these things...

Claim the positive truth over the negative lies.

Your question is based on error. God did create man perfect. However, sin has given man a fallen nature and a physical body racked by it's results. Sickness whether physical or mental is a result of sin on mankind. Jesus used treatments as part of His healing miracles. To not seek out available medical treatment is presumption, not faith.
