I have seen some here answer questions about whether or not the bible is accurate or whether or not it ALL was inspired by God, since it was the physical hands of men that actually wrote it. It has also been argued that since the originals are long gone and all we have today are "copies of copies" then mistakes have been made in all the copying. My question is this; If God truly did inspire the writings of the bible books, then could he not have made absolutely sure that ONLY His thoughts were conveyed and then made sure that ONLY His thoughts were copied down through the centuries? Why do so many people seem to think that God inspired the original writings but then failed to make sure the message survived the centuries that have passed since?

There's an old saying, "the proof is in the pudding". I can tell someone that the bible is the inspired word of God, but unless that person has a personal experience of the power of God's word....how can they know?

Ten years ago I thought the bible was a book merely written by men. Then I began studying it. And I haven't stopped. A decade has passed, and I have come to believe the bible is what it claims to be; given by inspiration of God. I have seen it proven true a hundred times over.

To those who don't agree, I give the most friendly advice. There is nothing more worth your time than really delving into the bible...put it to the test. See what happens in your life. But if a person shrugs their shoulders and sees nothing about it that speaks to them at all...of course that is their choice.

To me, it is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Well I don't know the exact reasons why God did not protect the other holy books from corruption, but that's what happened (all part of His divine plan).

If you read the Bible, and then read the Qur'an, it's so clear which one is God's message. There are some passages when I read the bible that appear to be from God and make sense. But a lot of it is really disturbing.

It's a fact that the Qur'an has never been changed (the original Arabic Qur'an, not the translations into other languages). It makes so much sense to follow the book that has never been changed, as well as the most recent one.

The late Ahmad Deedat was a bible scholar, and there are many really interesting debates that he has had with Christian preachers & priests. He knew more about the bible(s) than most christians do, and he made a lot of excellent points as to why the bible is no longer God's word. I suggest watching some of those debates, if you're interested in that subject.

I have a thought for you.God could just make us do what he wants.Or even though we have free will he could lay every thing down in black and white where there wouldn`t be any doubt what so ever what we should do or believe. The whole point is that we are to walk by faith not by what we know.God did show man or inspired him to know who he was that he was the true God and that man kind was his creation but man is man and each has their own way of thinking and understanding and he passed the word on as a rule by mouth and then someone else passed it on then it was wrote down, some things get changed in the telling.I believe that is Gods plan. What was suppose to be written was.

It has so many errors, contradictions and other flaws only someone capable of monumental self deceit could say it is inerrant!

Just have a quick glance though this link and you will see an endless stream.
Doesn't mean God isn't real - just means the Bible is a flawed document made by HUMANS who for the most part where trying to do what they thought was right but within their context.

IMO, the Bible is inspired by God through various people, using their different personalities, but is without error. Yes Peter and Paul disagreed on a major point, but this has nothing to do with the writing of the Bible. Paul challenged and Peter repented.

The idea that the Bible is a "copy of a copy" as no basis in reality. There still exist today over 2,300 manuscripts from the first 100 years of the Christian church. These have been found all across the middle east, parts of africa, europe and into asia. Many were prserved by groups with limited contact with other Christian groups, such as the Coptic Christians and the Aremanian churches. Yet these manuscripts agree over 99.5% of the time. Of the 0.5% of the times when they "vary", it is usually one of the 2,300 that has a word spelled differently.

Compare those with the over 7000 later manuscripts, for the 3rd century up to the time of the printing press, and you will find that they also agree word for word with the first 2,300 manuscripts.

All modern translations do not translate from exist versions. They all go back to the same early text. So it is difficult for "copy of copy" errors to creep in when you are all going back to the same manuscripts.

How accurate do you think it is?

The biblical metanarrative challenges paganism, and neo-pagan. What the Bible offers presents itself as the truth of which paganism is the parody.

The authors of the Bible were very human and often made mistakes in their writing, limited by the tribal nature of their culture, their theocratic or dictatorial political structure, their lack of scientific knowledge, etc. Human rights were not highly valued, women experienced a low status in the culture in biblical times.

Some biblical passages are religious propaganda, and not historically reliable. The gospels' text which blamed "the Jews" for the execution of Jesus is one example. Those passages in the Bible are much more closely linked to conflicts between Jews and Christians some 40 to 70 years after Jesus' death, than to real historical events at the time of Jesus' ministry.

Biblical writers attempted to explain their beliefs about God and his will for humanity. Being fallible, they sometimes wrote material that was contrary to the will of God.

Findings of the physical, social and medical sciences have shown that some parts of the Bible cannot be considered accurate. (e.g. the creation stories, mental illness caused by demon infestation, concepts of the structure of the universe, creation of rainbows, origin of various languages, etc).

The Bible is not accurate at all. I look at all the stories as ways to explain what happens in life...to tell a story about how we came to be as well as other things in life. It has been skewed to the point of being able to control people very easily all you need to do is change the meaning of words which most time can't be translated.

You are correct!

If God inspired the Bible, He sure could make sure it stayed the way He inspired it!! Really it is men that have changed it....

Look at God's name for instance??

Most Bibles have replaced "Jehovah" with "LORD" in capital letters....

Easy to pitch the trinity doctrine if God's actual name is not there to confuse their deciet....

LORD & Jesus & Holy Spirit is way easier to pitch as all one than
Jehovah, Jesus and Holy Spirit as all one...

OK I tell you one thing.

Do you know a unique peculiarity of the True Word of God?

Its a two edged Sword.

To them that accept the Word, Word will guide them to the eternal life and to them that Denies the Word, Word will lead them to eternal damnation.

So if you don't understand the truth in the Word of God pray to God rather than criticize.

God never compel any one to em-brass him like the other book Quran teaches.
