The following website is the place to go and get your FREE credit report, keep in mind that this is just your credit report, NOT your credit score. This is FREE, you do not need to enter credit card information etc.

annualcreditreport.com is where you you can obtain your government mandated free credit report (one from each of the 3 agencies per year), you have the option to get your credit report via snail mail or electronically via this method.

If you are worried about the security of you info on line, don't be the site is secure encrypting your information before sending it over the web so it can not be read by others. More information on how they guard and secure your information is located on their website

any other website or offer of an free credit report more often than not has strings attached such as purchasing credit monitoring etc.. and are not truly free.

There are three major credit reporting agencies - Experian, Equifax and TransUnion so check out their websites for your credit report. by the way, why would you want to 'fix your credit' if everything has been paid off? Having 'things paid off' means you have good credit history and that is the best thing to have when applying for credit. With every credit you pay off you raise your credit score. So before even considering 'fixing credit' (by the way, you can only correct mistakes on your credit report, not hide credit information) think about the value of your credit score.

If there are blunders on your credit record, dispute them with the credit bureaus. they are going to touch the creditor inquiring for verification. If the creditor does not respond to the credit bureau interior of 30 days, the item would be bumped off. There are some 'credit' web content that propose disputing each and every thing interior the hopes the creditor won't respond and the item gets bumped off. do not waste it sluggish attempting this. whether something does get bumped off, it particularly is probable to return the subsequent time the creditor updates to the credit bureau. Disputing respected products ought to get you tagged by the credit bureau and you've gotten issues getting genuine blunders fastened interior the destiny.

Like batwanda said, www.annualcreditreport.com.

This is the only site that is absolutely free with no obligations. It is the government mandated site for you to get your credit report free. You can check each agency once per year for free. I check one agency every four months. That makes it so I use my once per year allowance on each agency.
