guys, would you like it if a girl asks you out? i know its unorthodox but a lot of girls have done it. is it unattractive?

As long as she asks me out in a way that doesn't embarrass me as a guy, well, sure! you know "hey, let's hang out somewhere sometime!" That'd be cool.

If a girl came up and asked me on a date and I thought she was attractive, than I would find it flattering. Everyone wants to be liked, if you want to make the first move, you should. Some guys are just to shy to come up and ask you out, so by all means take the initiative.
