I want to dye my hair but I need a perm, is there anything else I can so I won't damage my hair?

Yes, you can but there are some things that you need to do...
1st of all, if you decide to color your hair, you *MUST* get it done at a salon. Chemicals in do-it-yourself kits are way too harsh, and really ruin your hair (even the ones that claim they're moisturizing)...
You need to wait a few weeks after a perm to receive any chemical service, or else it will be too much stress on your hair.
In the meantime- use of conditioners daily, as well as deep-conditioning treatments every few days will minimize the amount of damage another chemical service will do.

My grandmother perms and dyes her hair. And you never dye your hair before a perm because it will strip out all of your color. So perm it first then dye it a few days or a week after.

Yes you can do both. You always want to wait at least a week or better yet two weeks. Also Always perm your hair first because the perm will lighten color. If you are a bleach blonde you should not do both.
