I came home from work today to find little blood spots on the floor. I checked my cat and noticed he is missing a nail...the bleeding stopped, there's a little nub left and he's walking just fine but is there anything I can/should do for him? Will it grow back?

It probably will not grow back. He probably caught it climbing or getting into something. Just watch the place and be sure it does not seem hot to the touch or swollen or start bleeding hard or have a discharge or pus. If it bleeds a lot more or if any of these other things do happen he'll need to go to the vet for help with the infection but otehrwise he should be fine and he may have already forgotten how he did it. If he seems to have some discomfort give him extra love and attention. Do not under any circumstances gove asprin or tylenol because a cat's blood vessels including blood vessels in their internal organs are very delicate and asprin or tylenol can make the blood vessel give way and the cat bleed to death..

One of our cats tore off a nail. He was fine,. We did call the vet and he said the same thing I just told you.

As long as the bleeding stopped quickly and the cat is not limping or nursing it's paw, everything should be fine. As the claw was 'torn out", not removed from the base, as in declawing a cat, the nail will grow back. It's no different than you losing a nail. It hurts, but it isn't the worst of pain, your nail grows back, the cat's claw grows back. he must have just run into something, it happens. Most of the cat is soft and bounces off of stuff, but he must have been reaching for something under a couch or something like that, typical cat behavior, and oops, there went the claw.
It might not hurt to put a little bactine on the area around the hurt paw, but you also have to be careful that the cat doesn't start cleaning the area and get the antiseptic into his mouth.

The claw will grow back in time. It was probably cut off at he quick, hence the bleeding. Clean the wound with cotton bals soaked in hydrogen peroxide and if I were you, I'd keep the littly guy indoors until the toe heals up competely. This happened to one on my cats a long time ago - freaked me out. Apparently, the cat caught his claw on something and pulled a bit too hard, riping the claw - much like the way we rip our nails sometimes

It will probably grow back just fine. Since the bleeding has stopped, just do your best to keep it clean (although he may take care of that himself) and keep an eye on it. If you see a problem developing (swelling, pus, or fever), then take him to the vet; but chances are he will be just fine, just as you would be if you accidentally broke a nail back into the "quick."

Sounds like the little guy declawed himself. If he took enough of it out, then it won't grow back. If the nailbed is still healthy, it will grow back. If the bleeding is stopped, just watch for infection.

Probably not if most of the nailbed is gone. I recommend keeping the wound covered to prevent infection. I don't know if using any styptic powder is late, but that is what it is used to help stop minor cuts. If anything keep some around if anything similar ever happens again, you'll be prepared.

Your cat should be ok...

It depends upon how much of his toe is affected as to whether it will grow back or not... if there is any nail left.. it will normally grow back.
