A few months ago a guy that I really like was checking me out... in front my best friend... mom... who he himself has been rather friendly with... Mom said that when I left, I was all he could talk about.
So I ask you... my good people of yahoo's ask and answer... Why the heck hasn't this guy asked me out?
Could someone give me some reasons that may be halting him? He obviously likes my family.... and doesn't think I'm a dog.

DO NOT ASK HIM OUT.
If you REALLY like him, you will need to wait until he feels that you are worth risking the humility of rejection. Reread that. If you ask him out first, that means that even if you got married or whatever (keep dreaming), that he never got the chance to think of you being worth more than his pride. That is some powerful stuff.
Now he may think of you as just a hotty and got excited about it. That would explain his chattiness. What you need to do is be distant, but flirt when you DO see him. When he DOES ask you out, you need to not jump on it like a desperate wuss. Yes, most girls act like wussies with guys they crush on. What you need to do is show that you're different and BE COOL.
Keep contact with him and tease him and be like, "You know you love me" and things like that and he will make the move.

he is the kind of guy. i think that is shy and may i suggest that if you also like him; that make your self look a little bit approachable and available to him using your feminine wiles and senses, the way most women do when they want to lure the catch into their hands(you know what i mean) and maybe he will have the courage to ask you out directly or if you think that will take time and you can't wait enough then ask him next time that he is sizing you up that if likes what he sees he can physically check it out by asking you out for a date like a dinner, lunch, coffee or just a little drive around the neighborhood.

He's not asking you out because he's afraid of rejection. I'm assuming you're a teenager. It's a very awkward age for guys, especially when it comes to females.
You can approach this one of two ways:
1. Ask him out yourself
2. Start sending him more obvious signals that you like him (i.e. spend more time alone with him, touch his arm when you talk, laugh at his jokes even if they're bad, tell friends who are either gossips or know him how you feel)

I could walk around all day long and look at shapely posteriors. That doesnt mean i'm going to make date offers to every one of them. Its the kind of thing we as men dont have as much control over or arent as good at hiding it when we stare.
I'm sure he likes you enough to go for a date. But probably not bold enough to ask you for it. You need to give the impression that you are approachable to him and that you would say yes if he were to ask you.

He was checking out the package and wanted more information.. Maybe he is not sure talk to him and feel things out if he responds well ask him out if things don't go well then you did not make a fool of yourself!!

Maybe he thinks you are out of his leauge or he is plain scared that you might say no if he asked you out. Maybe you should ask him to a movie or get an soda or something.

it could be that he thinks your sort of together since he already met your mom. try talking to him about you and him see what he thinks dont be shy to tell him straight up that you like him
