nope. it doesnt hurt at all. they just put a glue type substance on your teeth then they stick on the brackets. next they shine a light onto the brackets to help the cement type glue dry. the only thing that hurts is that you have your mouth open for a really long time, and your lips might feel a little chapped afterwards. bring along some chapstick and you should be fine. best of luck!

no youre wide awake and un numbed but don't be scared it wont hurt a bit. it wont start hurting till they actually start moving the teeth around. then your gonna sleep with ambisil... (i think thats what its called) on your night stand. just rub it on your gums and it numbs the pain, and you might want some motrin or somethin. i miss my braces even though they were a pain in the ***. after a few days (or weeks) you get used to the pain and you dont even feel it anymore.

No, the process of putting them on is perfectly painless. It might hurt for a week or two starting the next day. Stock up on lots of soft foods!

I guess I had a great orthodontist! They gave me xanax once I got to their office. I sat down in the waiting room and 20 minutes later I was calm and relaxed. Wouldn't hurt to ask if they give their patients something for anxiety, would it? I would ask.

No; it's really not painful, and definitely not in the same way a toothache hurts. Your dentist may choose to use a topical anesthetic, but chances are good that's all you'll need.

No, you just sit there. They don't do anything but put glue on your teeth and sit the brackets on top of the glue.
