What Bible are reading, I have never seen nor heard of what you just said about raping a 14 year old girl?
The image is not that we look like God, but our image is that we as a person is a trinity, much like the trinity of God. We have a physical body, made up of flesh and bone, and on the inside is a soul, which has a form and a spirit that dwells in the soul. At death, the soul and spirit seperate from the body and the body goes to the grave. The soul and spirit goes to either heaven or the underworld. The soul is the body of the spirit whereever it goes. The spirit is not just floating around like a ghost.

No you are not, Ye must be born again. It sounds like you have a head knowledge of God but not a personal relationship with him. Just pray and ask the Lord to show the difference. He will he is faithful. The problem now days is the preacher a lot of times says is you say this prayer you are a christian. But in reality unless you are convicted of sin, see your self as a sinner you cannot see your need for a savior. That is the difference.
God Bless

Ok, I just have to say that yes, the rape of the 14 year old girl story is outdated. Nowhere in the bible does it say that the stories should be carried into current times and you're suppose to live by them. You seriously need to look at the context of what you're reading and not always apply it to modern life. Anyhoo, it sounds like you're more spiritual than anything. Some people might say you have to believe in everything the bible says but it's always your choice. You're too hung up on labels. Just be yourself and yourself just happens to believe in God. No need to put yourself in a box. That's a man made concept. You don't have to call yourself anything except whatever your name is.
You could look into Unitarian Universalism. That retains some of the Christian concepts yet allows you to question things that you don't believe.

No you are not a Christian. To be a Christian you need the new birth, to be a new creation in Christ. To do this you have to confess with your mouth that the Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior and believe in your heart that God raised Him up from the dead. When you are the new creation in Christ the Holy Spirit who lives in you will open the Scriptures to you and then you will really know the truth of God's word and the truth will set you free. The natural mind cannot cannot understand the things of God because they are spiritually discerned (1 Cor 2:14). May you become the new creation in Christ and receive the revelation of God's word by HIs Holy Spirit.

The only thing that make you a Christian is if you believe and trust that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins. Adam was created in God's image but when he sinned all of us became sinners and we are now created in Adam images. Genesis 5: 3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth: Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Why do you seek to be labelled?
Perhaps you should become a worshipper of Bambi and take this sage advice: "Look neither to the left, nor to the right, but keep on ahead." I've always liked that advice. Also, that guy who wrote these words was kind of wise as well: "Do not even judge yourself."
If you keep asking these questions, you will be on guard for the answer, even if that answer is slow in coming, when it is answered, remember the question, and be thankful. You will understand then what you don't know now.
Peace be upon you.

There is a verse in the bible, "always learning, never knowing". In all you say, you do not even mention the name of Jesus Christ.
Right at this point in time...no, you are not a Christian. A Christian must humble themselves, know they are a sinner, repent of that sin, and accept Jesus as savior.
Only a person with God's spirit can discern the things of God. The bible is given by inspiration of God and is His word. You can think that "no one has more knowledge" about God than you...but right at this point in time, you do not know the most important thing. Who Jesus is. I pray that God humble your heart and reveal to you His truth.

whoa, I wouldn't go around boasting if I were you. But if you have a good relationship with God, excellent bro!
we were created in His likeness: having emotions, the ability to desire, intellect, etc...not neccessarily physical stuff, though God does have some of the same traits, or atleast the ones we can interpret (hearing, seeing, feeling...)
I've never seen that rape thing, but that'd be old covenant anyway. irrelavent.
once you are saved, you are Christian. No one is Christian unless they are born again: both of the water and the spirit. You need to accept Christ as your Lord God and Savior, and repent of your sins. Otherwise, you're not.

No,'in His image' doesn't mean that God actuall has a body, but that He created humans with a siprit, higher than the animals.
The verse you are talking about is misleading. It does not say anything about a 14 year old.If a woman was raped in those times,no one would want to marry her.As punishment for the rapist,he had to marry her and support her for the rest of her life, provide for her,and take care of her needs.Remebr, back then, did not have things like a rape crisis centre.

do you believe in the divinity of jesus christ and the accuracy of HIS teachings specifically (not the entire bible, but the words of jesus)? if so, then you're a christian. the rest of the bible is completely up to interpretation. after all, god himself did not decide what was included in the bible - man was responsible for that. the most spiritual, thoughtful christians i know care more about their relationship with their god then they do about the words of a book.
