No - hardly anyone drinks it here, I am from Melbourne so our beer or choice is VB (Victorian Bitter - Booney's Beer) -or- Carlton Draught - In Perth it's Swan Beer, Brisbane is XXXX, Sydney tends to be Tooheys, Tasmania is Cascade, and South Australia would be Coopers.
The most popular (in my opinion from working many years in the liquor industry) would be VB, Carlton Draught and XXXX

Oversweet gnat's pi*s! We hear about Fosters at some sporting events and people seem to drink it in the UK but no-one in Australia does. It was popular once but it has gone the way of KB lager in Sydney. People prefer drier beers.
There are some great beers in Australia and quite a few pubs brew their own. The most popular beer in the country would be Victoria Bitter, VB but I prefer Melbourne Bitter of the Victorian beers. Coopers from South Australia, Cascade and Boags from Tasmania and Tooheys and Reschs from NSW are all very drinkable with Coopers, Cascade and Boags probably the best of the major beers.
Queenslanders drink XXXX (Fourex), South Australians have West End and Southwark and WA has Swan and Emu. All are drinkable.
There are two major mid-strength beers Carlton Mid and Fourex Gold and various light beers. Cascade is the best of the lights followed by Hahn and if you have no choice, Fosters Lite.
A popular trivia question: "If you watch Neighbours and drink Fosters, what nationality are you?" The answer is British.

Not on your life!! No self respecting Aussie would be seen drinking that sh1te, that's why we sell it overseas.
A point to note here, there is a premium beer in Australia called Crown Lager. What most people don't realise is that Crown & Fosters are the same beer, just packaged differently. Always makes me laugh when I see people buying Crownies (at twice the price of Fosters), & saying what a great beer it is.....

No.
I would have to leave the country if anyone ever saw me drink it.
Good Aussie beers are usually on tap at good pubs and bowlos, rsls etc. At most, you won't find crap Fosters but will have VB (Victorian Bitter), Hahn, Tooheys New and Old, James Boags to name a few. Do yourself a favour and have a schooner of one of these beers. You will never drink that pretend beer Fosters again.

To be fair, most of my friends from OZ who've come to the States find that the Foster's is better here than at home. But they don't drink it there. After a year there, my favorite beer has to be Cascade, a Tasmanian beer.

Its not too bad. Of course it is the most commonly known brand known around the world. But there are many to choose from and most States have their own favourite. I havent had a stubbie of Fosters for 3 years. Two of the nicest beer's on the market is: "Crown Lager" and "Cascade". Now they are very nice. As for Fosters - "Light Ice" is the nicest on the low strength beer.

Only when we can't get anything better, like Cascade or Coopers. Actually there are worse in Australia, or some I like less. And I never took to Crown Lager.
