If the dandruff is severe then use Nizoral shampoo or Selsun shampoo. Both are easily available at any chemist outlet. But do read the 'directions for use' before application as overuse of either of them might have certain side-effects. Also, if you have a fresh wound or a cut on your scalp then refrain from using selsun as it contains selenium with is a kind of poison as is aborbed into the body through fresh wounds/cuts. Be patient with the treatment because severe dandruff condition can take at least 2 weeks before to get rid of completely. Lastly do not ever wash your head with warm/hot water as it dries the scalp and further induces dandruff. Use normal water.

The only active ingredient that has worked for me has been coal tar solution, which can be found in T-Gel or Denorex. Head and Shoulders made my dandruff worse, so did Selsun Blue.

by not scratching your head and washing your hair & scalp once a week

There's this girl I know who washes her hair once every 1 to 2 months! She didn't tell me, but I knew enough to infer, and she had a HORRIBLE flake prblm and her hair was in straight greasy locks and it was just gross.
