I like bith whole lobster and lobster tails and I want to try to make some at home. How can you tell when a lobster is cooked when steaming or boiling? Tails and whole lobster? I know how to cook them i just dont know how to tell when they are done.

Of course they turn red. when the water boils, drop them in for 17-23 minutes depending on size, this includes if muli lobsters are done at the same time..

When the little white thing pops....put a chicken in the pot at the same time, when it turns white, and the lobster turns red your done!...about 7 minutes for a 1.5 lb in water.

a lobster is completely red when it is cooked, because all the pigments are masked, except the red background color of a lobster
