I was cleaning my house and i have a parakiet (dont know how to spell it) bird but i was trying to catch the bird to put him back into his cage and to broom handle went and fell on him, he was in a very schocked mood and something was wrong with his wing, he went very limp and there very small and fragile, now hes up and all huddled in the corner of his cage, is there anything i can do or should i just leave him alone to recover on his own???

I would take him to the vet if you can. If not, try to keep him in a quiet, warm area and put food and water right near him so he doesn't have to travel far. Hopefully it is just a wing sprain and a scare, but it could be a lot worse as well (which is why a vet visit might be a good idea)

Consider the size of the bird versus the size of the broom handle, along with weight. That handle probably weighs at least twice as much as the bird, so he's obviously sustained injuries. He probably doesn't want to move because he's hurting, and there's not much you can do but take him to an avian vet ( http://aav.org/vet-lookup ) to assess possible internal and external damage and treat him properly. Best to do it now than later because later, (not to sound scary or threatening) he could be dead. Birds are so very sensitive, and we have to be fully aware of that.

Good luck.

A bird on the bottom of the cage isn't a good sign. Hold the little guy and keep him warm (heating pad) but not too hot. You don't want him to overheat. Birds have trouble maintaining their heat when they aren't feeling well. If after warming him up he still isn't himself you should bring him to a vet.

Good Luck!

I agree with Danielle B, bring your bird to the vet if you can, in the mean time keep his cage in a quiet area. Good luck.

Please quickly bring the bird to see a vet, if you love your bird and feel sorry. It's better to be safe than sorry.
