I can't remember, but I think he had a name (other than Lucifer) before he fell. Than when he fell he got the name Lucifer a.k.a Satan a.k.a the Devil. Correct me if I'm wrong, but please, no bashing. My poor heart can't take it.

In the last earth age, before satan was defeated in the war, he was called the "dragon"; when you read all through the Bible where he has lots of different names, the name is the key to the time period scripture is talking about; ie; serpent was his role in the Garden; Dragon was at the time of his fall,
King of tyre, little horn, son of perdition, satan,
the devil, Lucifer (bright morning star is the translation of lucifer - Ezekiels time), etc..
he has lots of names/titles.

Really Lucifer (bearer of the light) is not so very bad a name, though I don't see many kids entering first grade with it lately.

In catechism we were told his name was Lucifer, and he was God's favorite angel. "Lucifer" means "bringer of light," which can also be interpreted as "bringer of enlightenment" or "bringer of knowledge." And we all know the fall from Eden happened because Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge. Pretty good indication that religion enjoys and encourages ignorance.

His name was Lucifer ( which means light bearer ) and he was the torch bearer( herald) of the Lord God before he tried to rebel and take over.

Lucifer. It means the brightest, greatest, etc. But when he came to the conclusion that he was equal or greater than God, God threw him to the earth along with the angels he had convinced to follow him.

Satan's name before was Samael. Samael was considered the greatest of angels as well as the most beautiful angel. He is also the main angel of death. His angelic order is the Seraphim; the Firey Serpents sent to punish Israel for it's transgressions. I I believe, correct me if I am wrong but Khamael and Shemhazai are two other names for Samael.

I have never heard of him having any other names, I do know that his name was Lucifer in Heaven and he was sent to live in hell after he tried to over rule/ over power Jesus Christ.
