Can you please explain to me why I should accept your religion and disregard all of the other ones? I know this question has been asked nearly 989845784743 times before, and a lot of people are probably reading this and shaking their heads, saying to themselves, "Oh man, not again." But the reason I am bringing it up for the 989845784744th time is that I have yet to see it answered logically and rationally.

So, without further adieu, I will turn the floor over to you, dear reader of my question. Can you answer this question without constructing straw men, appealing to authorities or popularity, begging the question, or resorting to any other fallacies of reasoning?

I'm sorry to report I have a possible fallacy of reasoning, or else I would have remained single.
But I'll give your question a go:
I'm Christian, by the way.
My answer is simple: you shouldn't. You esspecially shouldn't disregard all other ones.
I say this because if you were to just blindly follow any religion because someone gave you a good line about why you should believe what they believe, then you just may make the worst mistake of your life. Think of all those folks who believe in the rapture because tv preachers say its so. Its not Biblical. Theres no such thing written in the manuscripts, but it sure sounds holy, and it sure sounds good.
Well, its a lie. Maybe one of the biggest ever presented to the "religious".
Think for yourself; follow your own heart. In fact, if you were to use your brain, and yet not believe what you hear and stay away from the churches, God would respect that more than he would if you were a blind follower of nonsense.
The Bible contains incredible knowlege and foresight; unfortunately, whats written is mostly never taught in any of the churches.
If I were to go into any number of the churches and taught one time what was actually written in the Bible, from the manuscripts, I would be asked to leave. So whatever you decide to believe, know this: God isn't responsible for the tripe taught out there, and he certainly is not responsible for people who listen to that tripe.
He hates both.

Although I've always been Christian, the last few years I've become more certain as I see that the Bible can be supported scientifically and historically. Not proven, of course, because many of the events are miraculous, unrepeatable events. There's lots of evidence if you look at the issues with an open mind. My advice to you, though is, rather than asking a bunch of people with nothing better to do than play around on Yahoo Answers (or put off homework as I am doing) is to go and look through the literature yourself. After all, someone will be right in the end, whether we end up in heaven or hell, as a bacterium's luncheon or where ever else we may go. If there is anything to religion it may be the most important thing that you can think about (or not, if it is all in people's heads).

It's not a case of a religion being "superior." It's a matter of whether a particular religion is the truth or not. Since where you're going to spend eternity hinges on that very issue, it's a good idea to make sure that you've chosen the correct path.

Jesus Himself said that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man comes to the Father except through Him. That's as blunt as it gets -- take it or leave it. There is no middle ground in that statement anywhere.

If He is telling the truth, then His way is not only superior -- it excludes all other possibilities. He said that He was the Son of God, and He demonstrated that through the miracles that He worked.

He was accused of many things by the Sanhedrin, but lying was not one of them. If they could have proven that He was a liar, they would have brought it against Him. In fact, their case against Him was so weak that THEY had to resort to lying and false witnesses.

Therefore, I have no reason to believe that He is lying when He says that He is the sole means of salvation. This is why I believe that the Christian faith is the truth.

Do not look to religion to save you. Trust Christ Jesus only He can save you. God cannot be subjected to human thought and reason, He is not subject to out intellect or our laws. We are the created and He is the Creator. We are the servants, He is the King. Can we match wits with Him? Can we council Him?
You are looking to human beings to explain to you the "Mysteries of God" in a logical and rational way. Our human minds are limited, we cannot comprehend Almighty God, nor can we come to know Him through logic. Gods plan for us is through Faith.
God gives us His holy word, this is how we can know Him.
God does not reveal everything about Himself to us but He does tell us enough about Himself so that we can all make the right decision regarding Him. God Bless You...Peace.

I don't think you should accept any ones religion as superior to other religions based on anything written in this forum. That truly would make you nothing more than a lemming. I do think if your curious about what is or is not the truth it will require you to investigate for yourself. The bible says that eternal life is directly related to our knowing the true character of God and Jesus and our personal relationship with Them.

I find it ironic that you use the screen name baal and ask this question. It reminds me of the verses in 1 Kings 18 where Elijah challenged the prophet of baal to a contest to see who's God was stronger and the winner would be the one they follow. Baal's 450 prophets called on baal all day, but he did not answer. When Elijah called on God, the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice which had been drenched in water three times, the wood, the stones, the soil, and all the water in the trench.

The people seized the prophet of baal and slaughtered them for leading them astray

Well, you may not like my answer, but it is a simple one. I don't believe my religion is superior to others. I believe my belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God is correct. I can't explain WHY you should accept this. I can only tell you that Jesus loves you so much that He gave His life and paid the penalty for the sins of mankind so that we can spend eternity with God in Heaven. Why should you accept my beliefs? You should accept them simply because you have read the Bible for yourself, and have come to the conclusion that what it says is true. Your own conclusions that are drawn from reading the Bible are what should motivate you to believe however you choose to believe. Hopefully, you will come to believe that Christ died for you out of love and you will accept His gift of salvation that comes with no strings attached.

Imagine a Christian going into a Mosque in the middle east and asking if anyone needs to be saved by Jesus.

Oh Lord help that man.

First off I don't think my religion is SUPERIOR to all others but I checked the question out because well because it was an interresting question. I am in my religion because it is the one that makes the most sense to me. Yes I have checked out other religions, not just by going to services but actually took a class on modern christianity and studied other religions. My religion makes the most sense to ME. You need to find one that makes the most sense to YOU if it is mine great if not than as long as it is best for you who am I to condem it.

Baal....Jesus made this claim: "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father, but by me". No one can "convince" you to believe anything. All I can do, as a believer in Christ and in God's word, the bible, is tell you this. It is up to you, then, to decide where to go from there, whether to investigate these claims further, or not.

I wish you the very best.
