I ahve a question about coke; people say coke makes you fat, anyone says that. But when I look at Coke Zero Diet (or wtv they're calling them nowadays), it says no calories nor fat. In Fact the only thing on there is like Sodium, which is not a fattening factor. Also the aspatame in there is not fattening too (at least I think, or why else would they write 0 percent fat?) So my question is, why does people think Coke is fattening when there is absolutely nothing in the junk. Its just water plus Carbon Dioxide?
IS Coke diet REALLY FATTENING?

They are saying it because of the calories in regular sodas. When you drink diet soda without the sugar then you have no calories and no fat.....but you have to think about what you are putting your body through when you drink a sugar substiute. They are not good for you at all, actually worse that regular sugar! BTW, high levels of sodium can make you bloated.

Are you talking about Coke, Diet Coke or Coke Zero? Coke has lots of sugar in it. Diet Coke and Coke Zero may not have enough calories in them to worry about but, many people think that if they drink diet soda they can eat more of other stuff and that makes them fat.

And just because they say 0 calories, doesn't mean it has 0 calories. The government allows companies to round down. So there may still be a little of whatever in the diet soda. It might not be very much but when people overdue it on the diet stuff thinking it has 0.0 calories, those half calories add up.

Artificial sugars are bad for you but the diet industries don't want anyone to know that. Also if you check the sodium levels in diet drinks you will notice that they contain double the amounts of regular coke. It is easy to check on the cans. So, regular coke is high in sugars and diet coke is high in sodium. Sodium is not fattening but causes you to retain water and thus feel bloated. Sodium is also bad is you have high bloodpressure.

Well it isn't fattening but the chemicals in the sugar substitue block loss of calories as well. So don't expect to lose weight by drinking it.

Sodium is salt which holds water. So when you drink a lot of soda, it makes you retain fluids. It's not fattening, except that you will weigh more with more fluids on you.
