After seeing a spot on the Today Show about hookup culture (wherein it is revealed that young women are behind a lot of the new casual sex culture) I am confused and angry. As long as I can remember there has been this battle to label guys who went 'conquesting' women as bad. Now that the women are doing the same thing it is seen as something good, the women are exercising 'empowerment'. What the hell!

Of course I've been aware of this stuff for a while but it's just rubbing salt into a wound. I was raised to respect and treat women as equals and now what I've got to look forward to is more than likely being treated like a piece of meat.

What do you all think?

its great that you respect women, not many guys do these days.

however, think about this: for so long guys who slept around were cool and girls who slept around were sluts. i think we deserve to be cool for satisfying our sexual urges for once ;)

plus it could be the fact that more and more women are becoming business-owners, CEOs, or executives, etc. and dont have time for a relationship so they have one-night-stands to get their rocks off without the hassle.

It's more of a phase for many people. Being promiscuous sexually is a right of passage during late high school/college for some people. If you don't look forward to casual sex and hook- ups then you don't have to involve yourself in them. They help some people begin to understand themselves sexually. It's a personal choice whether to be treated like meat or to be involved in a mutually satisfying relationship with a person who doesn't want to use you that way.

Pretty sad thing really. It seems lately that any "group" of people that aren't happy with something, blame someone else for the way things are.Women complained for decades about equality, they got and then complained some more, and tried to make up the rules as they go along. They still blame men for the way things are,and complain, and complain some more. It's tiring.
