Girls, here's the scenario:

You have been experiencing a great deal of pain lately. You have a breakdown and just lay in bed crying your heart out. Your boyfriend gets home and finds you lying in bed crying. He holds you in his arms, gives you advice, and literally kisses your tears away.

You break out crying very hard. This is the first time your boyfriend has ever seen you this way. He just can't hold it in. He can't bare seeing you this way. His eyes tear up. One of his tears falls on your face, and you notice it. He isn't weeping, but silently tearing.

1. What would you girls think if your boyfriend teared up a little bit because he couldn't bare to see and feel you suffering?

2. Would you think of him as less of a man? Would you view it as "weak"?

Just wondering. This is my 3rd time posting this because I want lots of opinions. Thanks a Bunch.

I would think it was sweet, but if he had more than one or two tears I'd be sorta freaked out.

I would say he's a definate catch! Society would like to make you think that there's something wrong when a man shows emotion. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Showing your feelings through a release such as crying in the presense of your partner is a very normal and positive thing. You should be happy that you two are so connected that when you feel pain he feels it too. Many women would beg for this kind of display of affection. So for the "weak" thing I say no way. Emotions are not biased to the sexes, men have just the same feelings as women. Every man in the history of the world including the most powerful and influencial men have cried at sometime or another. Be glad and share your feelings more often with your boyfriend and you'll build a healthy relationship.

A man is not weak for crying. He is strong for being able to show his emotions and become vulnerable to a person that he truly cares for. My fiance is a very cocky guy and he has in the past just sat down next to me when I was a mess ans teared up. He knows that crying is not making him less of a man but making him more of a man in my eyes.

If my boyfriend did that, I wouldn't think of him as less of a man, only more of a human. I don't think that there is any reason a guy should not be able to show his sensitive side. It's wonderful, when you see that he loves you so much, that he hurts when you do. No it's not a good sign if he's constantly a sobbing mess. But it's OK for a guy to cry...especially if he sees his girl hurting, and it hurts him too...

I can't believe you are analyzing this so much!

See a counselor about your crying issues.

Be blessed your BF cares. Men have tear ducts = men can cry.

If he cries over a cake he baked that flopped, yeah, might be a little on the "weak" side.

Ha... I wish I can get a guy who cares this much!
If this is the only sign of him being less of a man- forget it!
I think he's just sweet and really loves you and you should cherish this guy... not so many of us are this lucky... He obviously cares about you a whole lot! You let him go... give me his address!!! lol... jk!

personally, I wouldn't see him as weak, just sensitive. I would be touched that he loves me soo much that it hurts to see me cry hard..so I would think of it as being more of a man because he's not afraid to express his feelings and to not make a strong false front...in other words, he's being open with me.

I wouldn't think he was "less of a man" or "weak".. I would think he was feeling empathy for my pain and I would feel a bit better. I would feel lucky to have someone like that in my life.

honey if you have such a man keep it hidden and tied to the bedpost. Most men don't give a s*** for your feelings. They would just have walked away and leave you crying. "Weak" not in this lifetime. He is brave to show you his emotions and you sound airhead by asking this question.

Well I would treat him the same way he would treat me. When my g/fs cry, I feel like crying too sometimes. It's okay for either gender to cry. It does not weaken him. It shows that he can show emotions and not hold in stress. I would think that women should like if their b/f showed emotion to them too.
