Filing a charge back as in you did not receive goods or service does not affect your credit rating. In fact in most cases it is a basic right that you have being a credit card holder. But for your concern I hope that this charge back does not steam from a pay-pal transactions because in most cases pay pal is exempt law to honoring charge backs filed by credit card companies. What will happen is that they will say the seller shipped the item and it was delivered at such and such time for this prices.

The negative one that will affect your credit rating is a charge off and that is when a creditor charges off the account because they don't believe they will ever collect monies due.

A chargeback, also known as a reversal, occurs when a buyer asks a credit card company to reverse a transaction that has already cleared. A buyer may file a chargeback with his/her card issuer based on credit card association regulations and timeframes.

Although a chargeback may appear similar to a PayPal claim, it’s actually a process that is granted to a cardholder by their credit card company and initiated outside of PayPal. In a dispute over a chargeback, the decision is ultimately made by the credit card company and PayPal can’t control the outcome.

Two common reasons for reversals or chargebacks are:

* A buyer’s credit card number is stolen and used fraudulently.
* A buyer makes a purchase, but believes that the seller failed to fulfill their side of the agreement (for example, they did not ship the item, shipped an item that was very different from the seller's description, or the item was damaged when the buyer received it).

All sellers who accept credit card payments run the risk of being liable for chargebacks. Chargebacks are among the unfortunate costs of doing business. Many sellers factor this cost into their business risk model. Read more about credit card at: http://www.credit-card-forums.com/forum/20;?ccf805sess=91230687f706fdad018564269f0968ed;Credit-Forum

i do no longer believe so. in case you closed your economic employer account and left this volume owing on your account, then it would seem as a debt on your credit, yet i do no longer believe that a fee they could charge you for this can adversely influence your credit. Supposedly those forms of documents on energetic money owed are inner most.
