No, I don't think she is afraid of the potty. Don't worry she is doing fine some kids don't even get this far until they are 3. In Head Start which is 3 and 4 year olds all the kids bring a change of clothes in case they have an accident. You are doing a good job mom. Give her stickers when she uses the potty and praise.

I don't think she is afraid of the potty if she is using it. It takes time. We started training our son at about 18 months, it took him 9 months to get potty trained. I made a chart with his favorite characters on it and with the days of the week and hung it on the fridge, every time he went he got to put a sticker on it, he would glance at it on the fridge and then say I have to go potty, so it was always there for him to see and a constant reminder. I also took him to the dollar tree and left him pick out a toy when he did good. Needless to say, the sticker chart did lose its appeal to him after a while. I tried not to push the issue but did always ask him every half hour to hour. Just one day I think it clicked for him and he wanted to do it. Just don't give up it will come eventually just give it time, I never thought it would have taken that long, it didn't help though that we had a baby in the midst of everything plus changing sitters also. Try to give lots of praise when she does go or when she tries to go!! Hope this helps ya

When you ask her and she says she doesn't have to go still take her. She will get the hang of it. My 3 year old is finally potty trained, she was never interested in it, and she is still very lazy about it, but she will at least tell me when she has to go now. Though I did not push her too much, I would ask if she needed to go and she would usually say no, but I would say lets go anyway and most of the time she would go, but if she had a fit about it I just left it.

ask her or take her to the potty?
my son is 2 and I take him to the potty every like 15-30 minutes. when he goes I take him to the candy/reward box and he gets something. I did have a potty chair and it didnt do well so I got a seat for the potty and he loves that. he potties on elmo and thinks it's hilarious. ugh...but whatever works!

If you are using pull-ups that is the problem. The pull-ups are too absorbent and it is very hard for some children to tell when they are wet. You need to go to the store and buy the old fashion underwear and rubber pants. It is a pain because you have to wash them but it really worked for my child. Make a chart and every time she uses the bathroom give her a sticker an or star when she gets so many stars give her a reward. GOOD LUCK
