There's this girl at work I've been contemplating asking out, but I'm not sure if she will say yes. What is the best way to ask without risking making it awkward at work?

Ask her if she wants to hang out or something after work. Or ask her if she wants to go out for lunch or catch a movie. And if you want to make it less wierd make it like a group date, have some of your friends go out with you. Then if all goes well ask her out on a single date, just you and her.

be friendly. strike a conversation. find out what she likes and start talking about it. then, find an occasion where you could make it look as though she has to buy you lunch. and when she agrees, pay for her.
